Learn about World of Warcraft: Midnight's PvP systems, including Battlegrounds like Warsong Gulch, Arenas, dueling, and open-world PvP encounters. Understand honor rewards and flagging.

PvP Modes:

  1. Battlegrounds: Instanced multiplayer combat against the opposing faction. Accessible from level 10. Warsong Gulch is available from level 10. Other battlegrounds have level brackets (e.g., 1-9, 21-29), with level 60 being the cap for Alterac Valley and level 80 for their own grounds. It's recommended to be near the top of your level bracket for optimal team contribution.
  2. Arenas: Found in select areas or entered like battlegrounds, allowing combat in groups with near-level players.
  3. Player vs. All (PvA): Free-for-all combat encountered in the wild.
  4. Dueling: Solo combat initiated by asking another player, who can decline.
  5. Open-World PvP: Occurs when players of the opposing faction attack towns, cities, or individual characters. Your PvP flag is turned on when you attack an enemy player or their faction's NPCs. Attacking enemy players in neutral settlements will result in NPC defense.

PvP Flagging and Honor:

  • Your PvP flag is activated when you attack an enemy player or their faction's NPCs.
  • The honor system rewards more for defeating characters of a similar or higher level. No honor is gained for killing significantly lower-level players.
  • Attacking enemy players in neutral settlements will cause NPCs to defend them.
  • If killed by another player in PvE, you can wait 5 minutes in ghost form for your PvP flag to clear.

Battleground Access:

  • You can queue for most Battlegrounds from anywhere via the PvP tab on your toolbar.
  • Warsong Gulch can only be entered through a battlemaster or by being in the zone.

Faction Invasions:

  • Rarely, a large army of the opposing faction may invade a city, aiming to reach and defeat the faction leader for achievements, in addition to general disruption.
