Master the Azjol-Nerub dungeon in World of Warcraft! Get expert tips on defeating Krik'thir, Hadronox, and Anub'arak to conquer Dragonblight.

Alright, let's talk about Azjol-Nerub! This one's the smallest of the heroic dungeons, mostly just three bosses and you're done. Don't let its size fool you though – these bosses can absolutely wreck a group that isn't on point. You'll find this one in Dragonblight.

Bosses: 3

Difficulty: ★★★

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Krik'thir the Gatekeeper

Before you even get to Krik'thir himself, you've got three mobs that are part of this encounter. Your first priority is to take down the skirmishers. Why? Because they can enrage and start one-shotting random players, and if you turn your back to one, you're asking for a nasty backstab. Keep an eye out for web wraps throughout this whole fight, too.

The actual boss fight is pretty straightforward – mostly a tank-and-spank. Your main job here is to help the healer by AoEing down the tiny adds that Krik'thir summons off them. Don't let those little guys overwhelm your healer!

  2. 2
    Hadronox

This one's another event-style fight. First, just clear out the adds that are up top. Once the big spider, Hadronox, comes down to your level, let him do his thing for a bit. He's got his own adds to deal with, so let him kill them first.

When it's time to engage, DPS him from the sides and make sure you're staying out of the poison pools he creates. You'll also need to heal through the poisons he sends your way. Like Krik'thir, it's mostly a tank-and-spank, but with added poison mechanics to manage.

  3. 3
    Anub'arak

This is the final boss and the one you really need to be careful with. The absolute golden rule here is: Tank him away from the group AT ALL TIMES. Seriously, this is crucial. When he starts casting a spell, he'll hit in the direction he was facing when the cast *began*, not where he ends up. If you turn him and anyone other than the tank is in that line of fire, they're toast.

This fight is largely a heal check. When Anub'arak burrows underground, you'll have to deal with elite adds that spawn. Anyone caught by the spikes he sends up from below will take massive damage, so be ready to heal through that. Other than managing the burrow phase and the spikes, it's mostly about burning him down.

Important Note: Make sure *everyone* gets inside the ring at the start of the Anub'arak fight. If you don't, you might get locked out. Also, keep an eye out for glitched adds during the burrow phase. If they get stuck outside the ring, you might just have to let the spikes get you to reset or avoid them.

Tips
  • Focus the skirmishers first before Krik'thir.
  • AoE the small adds off the healer during the Krik'thir fight.
  • Let Hadronox kill his own adds before engaging him.
  • Stay out of poison pools and heal poison effects from Hadronox.
  • Crucially: Tank Anub'arak facing away from the group to avoid fatal cleaves.
  • Be ready to heal through spike damage during Anub'arak's burrow phase.
  • Ensure all players are inside the ring at the start of the Anub'arak encounter.
  • Watch for glitched adds outside the ring during Anub'arak's burrow.
