How to Get the Tonberry Summon in Crisis Core Reunion

Find the First Tonberry: First things first, you need to find a Tonberry. Head into the missions that unlock at the start of Chapter 2. Specifically, you'll want to clear Mission 6-1-1: Closed Coal Mines, which is part of the 'Looking for Items' set. Keep pushing through these missions until you unlock Mission 6-1-5: Buried in the Caverns. This is where you'll find your first Tonberry enemy. It's not a random encounter, but chilling at one of the dead ends. Be careful, it hits hard with its Kitchen Knife attack and has a good chunk of HP. If you've been dodging random fights, its Karma attack shouldn't be too scary yet. Your best bet is to use Gravity to wear it down, then finish it off with physical attacks or abilities. Don't forget to actually complete the mission objective afterward!

Unlock the Summon Chain: Clearing Mission 6-1-5 is crucial because it unlocks the next mission in the chain: Mission 10-2-1. This is where the real summon unlocking begins.

Face the Tonberries: Now, you'll need to work through the missions that follow. The first one in this new chain will have a single Tonberry, and the next one will throw four at you. Try to keep your distance and group them up if you can, so your Gravity spell hits multiple targets. Since Gravity costs 22 MP, you'll probably want to stock up on Ethers to keep your MP topped up.

Defeat the Master Tonberry: The final mission in this sequence pits you against a Master Tonberry. This thing is no joke, boasting a massive 40,000 HP. Gravity is still your best friend here for chipping away at its health. Keep your distance to avoid its standard attacks and its nasty Kitchen Knife. A key thing to watch out for is its invisibility; it can disappear and then reappear right next to you for a surprise stab attack.

Claim Your Reward: Once you've successfully defeated the Master Tonberry, you'll be rewarded with the Tonberry's Knife Key Item. This is what adds the Tonberry summon to your DMW!
