Guide to the Memory of Jeigh in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Learn how to reach the Giant Lord boss, strategies for the fight, and tips for survival.

The Memory of Jeigh is accessed near the Cardinal Tower bonfire. From the bonfire, descend the ladder, turn right, cross the bridge, and proceed to the area with the ornate door that requires the King's Ring. This door leads to the Place Unbeknownst Bonfire, and from there, the Memory of Jeigh, which contains the Giant Lord boss fight.

Upon entering the Memory of Jeigh, Benhart of Jugo can be summoned as an ally for the Giant Lord boss fight. As you emerge, be aware of the fireballs. They will impact near you, then further away, and repeat this pattern. Dodge these fireballs and make your way up the steps on the left. Collect the treasure there, which should trigger a giant rolling head to eliminate the other giants. Time your movements carefully to reach the boss.

NOTE: If you freed Navlaan, watch out for another invasion after defeating the boss and leaving the memory.

BOSS: Giant Lord

The strategy for the Giant Lord is similar to the Last Giant. Staying between his legs will generally keep you safe from most of his attacks.

  • Deadly Attack: He has a sword slash that covers the right side of his body and his back. This is his most dangerous attack, as the back is typically a safe spot for large bosses, making this attack surprising. Standing behind him often triggers this move, so attack and quickly roll between his legs.
  • Long Range Attack: As you approach, he can perform a long-range attack that travels in a straight line, making it easy to dodge.
  • Pyromancer Strategy: Pyromancers can find this fight easier with Fire Tempest or Chaos Storm, as the boss rarely moves and will be hit by all the fire pillars.
  • Magic User Strategy: If you have magic, you can stay on the platform to the left of the Giant Lord. The boss seems unable to climb stairs, making him an easy target. Be cautious, as he can still reach you with an overhead swing, which is easily dodged but can be instantly fatal if your health is low.
