Tips
- Velstadt, the Royal Aegis's biggest weakness is the downtime between his attacks. Many of his attacks are slow, so consider switching to light armor if you have a decent set.
- Staying close to Velstadt will result in him using a single big attack or a two-hit assault, which are relatively slow and drain about 40 percent of your stamina if blocked. Evading is also an option. You can typically get in at least three hits before needing to defend.
- If you maintain distance, Velstadt will use a faster lunging attack, which is a single hit that can be evaded or blocked. Blocking this attack consumes more stamina but should still allow you to survive one follow-up.
- Rush in and deal maximum damage when Velstadt kneels to summon dark power. Do not worry about damage from the summoning circle or aura; with a full stamina bar, you can remove about 20 percent of his health during this phase. After summoning, his one or two-hit attack pattern will resume.
- King Vendrick is an optional boss. For more details regarding this fight, refer to the optional boss section.
