Complete Intermission 1 in dragon ball z kakarot, including The Pilaf Gang's Plan, Training Grounds, Looking for Launch, Foreboding Fear, and Mysterious Power Reading.
The Pilaf Gang’s Plan
Pilaf claims he and his underlings are being attacked by a robot, prompting you to offer help. You will need to fight three robots, all at level 16. These are the same Skull Robos you have encountered previously. Upon destroying all the robots, you will finish this substory. Pilaf can be found right outside of a cave.
| Objective | Reward |
| Helped the Pilaf Gang with their robot trouble | 4,583 EXP, D Medal (x1), Brain Bread (x1), Energetic Fish (x1), Giant Fish Fin Muscle (x1) |
You will also receive Pilaf’s Soul Emblem, Shu’s Soul Emblem, and Mai’s Soul Emblem after finishing this substory.
The Training Grounds
This is a good opportunity to examine your skill tree. Gohan’s skills primarily require blue Z Orbs. Focus on obtaining Masenko Lvl 3 and Meteor Sledge Lvl 3. These will enable you to complete the two training sessions for Gohan at any Training Ground. Gohan will have two new moves available to learn: Crushing Strike, which has a recommended level of 15, and Super Masenko, with a recommended level of 20. For Crushing Strike, you will fight level 15 Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo. Krillin has Solar Flare, so consider targeting him first. Super Masenko requires fighting level 20 enemies (Gohan and Piccolo), which might be challenging at your current level (around 15-16), so you may wish to save this for later.
Looking For Launch
Your next objective is to visit Master Roshi at his house. He has sent everyone to search for a young woman named Launch who used to live there. Roshi provides a description and mentions that someone matching her profile was last seen in West City. You can explore the current region before heading to West City. The marker will be north-northwest of your fast travel location. Upon arrival in West City, you will encounter a precarious situation. Due to a misleading description from Roshi, Gohan mistakes a blue-haired woman for Launch and confronts her, leading to a fight against three robots. These robots may be a few levels above you. After destroying all the robots, watch the following scene. Return to Roshi to report finding Launch. You will receive Launch’s Soul Emblem after the conversation concludes.
Your next objective is to speak with Chi-Chi, which will end the intermission and begin the next story saga. Before doing so, a new substory is available in the West Area at Capsule Corporation. Bulma will be waiting inside the building in the open area with this new substory.
Foreboding Fear
Bulma requests your assistance in retrieving a piece of the spaceship that Goku’s brother, Raditz, arrived on Earth in. Travel to the East Ravine Area (Lucca Village is closer to your destination). The location is slightly northeast of where you regain control. Head into the crater and approach the marker; a scene will automatically play, and you will pick up a mysterious chip. Return this to Bulma at Capsule Corp to finish the substory.
| Objective | Reward |
| Helped Bulma retrieve her item | 4,583 EXP, D Medal (x1), Brain Bread (x1), Mega Mass Lvl 1 (x2) |
After completing the previous substory, exit and re-enter Capsule Corporation to find Bulma with another substory.
Mysterious Power Reading
Bulma has been tinkering with a Saiyan scouter and detects a large power nearby, asking you to investigate. The power reading originates from the East Ravine Area. Travel there via the world map. The reading is coming from the same crater where you found the chip in the previous substory. Upon arrival, you will find three Saibamen. These appear to be a lower level than you and should be defeated quickly. After defeating them, you will find a High-Quality Carrot. Report back to Bulma to complete this substory.
| Objective | Reward |
| Investigated the power reading | 5,292 EXP, D Medal (x1), Romantic Apron (x1), Mega Mass Lvl 1 (x2) |
You will receive the Saibaman Soul Emblem upon finishing Mysterious Power Reading. Head to Goku’s House, where a blue marker indicates another substory is available.
