Utilize blocking and dashing/dodging to manage enemy attacks and study opponent behavior, as mashing buttons is ineffective against tougher bosses.

Engage with Community Boards, placing Soul Emblems on the Training board for leveling or the Z Warriors board for battle power.

Escape random encounters by clicking the right analog stick to disengage lock-on and flying away from enemies.

Consume meals and full-course meals for temporary buffs and permanent stat boosts applicable to all characters.

Sell items marked as sellable to accumulate Zeni, the game's currency, as it's not primarily gained through battles or exploration.

Talk to any named characters (with portraits) encountered in the wild to receive free items.
