Far Beyond Frieza

Learn how to defeat Frieza in his final form during the 'Far Beyond Frieza' substory in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Get tips on dodging his deadliest attacks and exploiting his weaknesses.

After you wrap up the World Tournament scenes in the Into Enemy Territory substory, you'll find yourself in the Great West Desert. Right in front of you, you'll see two substories available, and this is one of them. Both Supreme Kai and Kibito are a bit skeptical of your power, so it's your chance to prove them wrong by taking on Frieza in a mental simulation of his final form.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: Frieza (Final Form - Mental Simulation)
• Key Attacks: Death Beam, Death Pummel, Death Slicer, Death Ball
• Weakness: Exploiting the Death Ball mini-game for free damage.

Phases:

1. Initial Phase: Frieza will use his standard attacks, including Death Beam. When he uses Death Beam, either dodge to the far left or right, or try to stay in the small safe zones between the beams.
2. Death Pummel: Frieza will charge in for this attack, followed by a whirlwind kick. Be ready to counter or evade.
3. Death Slicer: This is similar to Krillin's Destructo Disc, but Frieza might throw multiple discs at once. Keep an eye on the screen and dodge accordingly.
4. Death Ball: At certain points, Frieza will perform Death Ball, indicated by a bar appearing below him. You need to quickly deplete this bar. If you succeed, you'll trigger a cinematic attack that deals significant damage. This can happen more than once, so always go for it when it appears.
5. Surge (Low Health): As Frieza's health gets low, he'll go into a surge. This means he'll either unleash a rapid series of attacks or use the Death Slicer with a top-down camera view. Be prepared for intense combos or a screen full of discs.

Strategy:

• Focus on dodging Frieza's Death Beam attacks by moving to the edges of the arena or finding the gaps between the projectiles.
• Be prepared to react to Frieza's Death Pummel charge and the subsequent whirlwind kick.
• When Frieza uses Death Slicer, pay close attention to the pattern of the discs and dodge them.
• The Death Ball mini-game is your best opportunity for free damage. As soon as you see the bar, go all out to deplete it.
• When Frieza enters his surge phase at low health, be extra cautious and ready to defend or evade his intensified attacks.
