Walkthrough
- 1Enter the Cave on the Veldt. If Interceptor is present, Shadow might be here. Follow him north and exit east.
- 2In the next area, go east, then northwest to find the Berserker Ring. Proceed through the door.
- 3Go down the stairs, then west through the cavern tunnel. Head to the far west, go east twice, south, and west to find a chest. Defeat the Death Warden (HP: 8000) inside to obtain the Tigerfang for Sabin.
- 4Return to the tunnel, take the southern branch, and follow the linear path. You will find a room with a chest and a switch. Open the chest to get the Ichigeki. Keep this item.
- 5Flip the switch to open a new path. Follow it north to a Save Point.
- 6Return to the door and continue to find Shadow injured. He will be attacked by the Behemoth Kings.
- 7Defeat the first Behemoth King (uses Blizzara, Blizzaga, Meteor, Devil Claw). Use elemental attacks and healing.
- 8Defeat the second Behemoth King (uses Death, Hypno Gas, Meteor). A Phoenix Down is effective.
- 9After the scene, you will be in Thamasa. Leave Thamasa and go to the Coliseum to the southeast.
- 10Speak to the man in front of the Coliseum door and bet the Ichigeki.
- 11Battle Shadow. After the fight, Shadow will join your party.

- The Death Warden uses Death-based attacks; equip Death-proof gear or be prepared to heal.
- The Ichigeki is crucial for recruiting Shadow, so do not lose it.
