Alright, let's talk about Gilgamesh! This guy can be a real pain, but don't worry, we'll get you through it. He's got a pretty wild set of attacks, so you'll want to be prepared.

Gilgamesh's Attacks: He can hit you with a basic attack, Blade Dance (a stronger basic attack), Aqua Breath, 1,000 Needles, Quasar, Revenge Blast, Throw, Jump, Aero, Dischord, and Stone. He also likes to use Haste, Protect, and Shell to buff himself up.

Strategy:

• First things first, when Locke is in the party, your main goal is to Steal. Make sure you snag those two Genji items he has. Don't worry about attacking him directly just yet.
• Once you've got the Genji items, start boosting your defenses. Use the Fenrir and Zona Seeker Espers to help out. Keep the Phantom Esper in reserve for later.
• After that, just go for some physical attacks. If you have powerful magic like Flare or Bahamut, now's a good time to use them.
• Gilgamesh will eventually cast Protect, Shell, and Haste on himself. After he does that, he'll start using his really damaging moves like Jump and those two 9,999-damage Throws.
• To survive his big attacks, once he's got those protective spells up, switch to the Phantom Esper. Then, just keep attacking normally. Honestly, if you have access to something like Ultima, now's the time to unleash it – you basically become untouchable!
• Keep in mind that Gilgamesh will counterattack, so just be aware of that and don't get too reckless.
