The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Hitman: Absolution are known to have several imperfections.

A significant issue is the Game Save Bug, where the game may crash during saving, corrupting your save data and forcing you to restart. To mitigate this, copy your game save to an external device like a Memory Unit or USB drive after each session.

Two items are unobtainable: the Notebook in the chapter "Shaving Lenny" (reportedly lost in the geometry) and the TNT in the Helipad Storeroom during the "Countdown" chapter, which cannot be picked up even when wearing a Guard Disguise and given the option to Hide.

In the "Run For Your Life" chapter, a bug can prevent the [Infiltrator] Challenge from being obtained, as you may be Spotted inside the train during the closing cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (in-game cinematic).

A patch was released shortly after launch to address the game save bug and tweak Guard sensitivity on high difficulty levels, but it did not resolve the "Lost and Found" issues.

The HD Enhanced Versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, released in 2019 as a double pack with Hitman: Blood Money, fixed the "Lost and Found" issues for "Shaving Lenny" and "Countdown" and included graphical and sound improvements.

Contracts Mode, introduced in Hitman: Absolution, allowed players to create custom contracts with up to three targets, setting parameters like Disguise and Weapon. Players could then challenge others or play existing contracts to earn money for weapon upgrades, but these were only usable in Contracts Mode, not the Story.

In May 2017, Square-Enix shut down the servers for the PS3 and X360 versions, making it impossible to earn related Trophies and Achievements. The HD Enhanced Versions completely removed Contracts Mode and its associated Trophies and Achievements, offering only a single-player experience.
