Learn how multiplayer works in Lords of the Fallen (2023), including co-op, PvP invasions, and cross-network play. Earn Vigor, Pilfered Coins, and Severed Hands.
To engage in multiplayer in Lords of the Fallen (2023), you must first be logged on to the servers. This usually happens automatically, but you can manually log in by interacting with any Vestige and selecting “Log In”. Lords of the Fallen (2023) features cross-network play, allowing you to connect with players on PC, PS5, and Xbox.
Once connected, interact with a Vestige again and select the “Multiplayer” option. This will present you with four choices:
Beckon Lampbearer - Matchmake with a Random Player
This option allows you to join a random player who has activated “Accompany Lampbearer”. As a guest, you will experience the host's game states, including realm transitions. You will receive 1/3 of the rewards from enemies and bosses (Vigor), social currencies, and AI drops. You can still level up at a Vestige and use shops. If the host dies, the guest follows them into the Umbral Realm. If the guest dies, they enter spectator mode until revived by the host or they rest at a Vestige.
Beckon Friend - Join or Invite a Friend
Use this to invite or join a friend from your friends list. You can add a password in the multiplayer settings to restrict access to only those who know the password.
Accompany Lampbearer - Matchmake to Join a Random Player
This option allows you to join players who have activated “Beckon Lampbearer”. You will be a guest in their world and follow their game states. If you select “Beckon”, you become the host. Helping players in PvE rewards both host and guest with Pilfered Coins, a social currency that can be donated or spent at the Shrine of Orius in Skyrest for various rewards.
Slaughter Lampbearer - Invasion (PvP)
This option allows you to invade the world of a random player. Both the host and guest earn Vigor upon defeating each other. Additionally, the winner receives “Severed Hands”, a currency that can be spent at the Shrine of Adyr. Dying as a guest does not result in Vigor loss, but the host will drop their Vigor at their death location upon dying.
Alternatively, you can use the “Charred Fingers” item, purchased from the Shrine of Adyr for 50 Severed Hands, to voluntarily choose to be invaded. To prevent invasions, you can purchase Mirrors of Protection from various NPCs in Skyrest or the Shrine of Orius.
