There are three tablets in total, and they're scattered across different areas as you progress through the game. Don't worry, I'll walk you through exactly where to go for each one.

All Tablet Locations in Lords of the Fallen

Here's the rundown on where to find each tablet:

1. Cracked Rune Tablet: You'll find this one in the Fitzroy Gorge. After you've made your way through the Fen region and into the mountain pass, keep pushing into the cave system. You'll reach a spot with a lot of scaffolding, and some guard dogs will be down below. Look for a path to the right of this scaffolding. If you head down there, you'll find an NPC and, importantly, an item pick-up on a ledge overlooking the dogs. That's your Cracked Rune Tablet!
2. Chipped Rune Tablet: This one is located in the Calrath City Blacksmith's area. Once you've battled your way through the Calrath Slums and defeated the region's end boss, look for an archway on the top left from where you entered. This opens up the Blacksmithing part of the city. Follow the path through the streets, past the fountain, and up a winding pathway. Keep going, try to avoid the Ravager enemy, and then you'll need to jump into an opening in a cracked roof. Inside that building, loot the fireplace. Be ready, though, as it's guarded by some fiery covenant enemies and bell mages.
3. Rune Tablet: The final tablet is on the main floor of the Tower of Penance. As you explore the main level of this area, keep an eye out for a chest with a distinctive black glow. It's located at the far back of the main floor.

Just a quick note on progression: Fitzroy's Gorge is pretty early on, after the Fen and Pilgrim's Perch. Calrath comes after the Gorge. The Tower of Penance is much later in the game, after you've dealt with two beacons and are getting close to the third.

Handing these tablets over to Gerlinde is key. The first one lets you start adding runes to your weapons, and the second seems to improve the items she sells. Make sure you give them to her as soon as you get them!

Should You Give the Tablets to Sparky or Gerlinde?

When you finally get your hands on that third tablet, you'll actually have a choice: give it to Gerlinde or give it to Sparky. This decision has some pretty different outcomes:

• Give Sparky the Tablet: If you choose Sparky, he'll teach you how to craft at any Vestige you find. Gerlinde will still be around as a trader in your Hub, but she'll triple the prices of her stock items. Her crafting prices, however, remain unchanged.
