Learn how to increase your item drop rates in Lords of the Fallen (2023) by using runes, consuming items like Charmed Paws, and performing Umbral Finishers.

Hey there! So, you're diving into Lords of the Fallen and want to make sure you're getting the best loot possible, right? It's totally normal for item drop rates to feel pretty low when you start out. Farming for that specific piece of gear can take ages if you don't know the tricks. Luckily, there are a few solid ways to give your item discovery a nice boost.

How to Increase Item Discovery

You'll find that enemies and bosses drop some seriously useful gear. To get more of it, you'll want to focus on increasing your item discovery percentage. Here’s how:

Add Runes to Equipment

Keep an eye out for runes scattered throughout the world. Some of these, like the Nhelaq rune (which you can get from a Ravenous Fascinator drop), specifically increase your item discovery rate. Just a heads-up, you'll need the Cracked Rune Tablet from Fitzroy's Gorge to actually use these, so this isn't something you can do right at the very beginning of your journey.

Consume Items

There are tons of items to discover, and many have unique effects. For boosting your Item Discovery, you'll want to look out for two specific consumables: Charmed Paw and Lucky Paw. Ravenous Fascinators can drop Charmed Paws, while Ardent Penitent might drop Lucky Paws. You can also snag Lucky Paws from the merchant Thehk-Ihir.

Perform Umbral Finishers

This is another great way to increase your item drop rate. When you stagger an enemy, watch for a red circle to appear. Pressing [RB] when you see it will trigger an Umbral Finisher, instantly killing the enemy and giving you a better chance at a sweet item drop. We recommend using this method to help you get by until you can get your hands on those runes or specific items later in the game.
