Boss 6: Goyagma [BS06]

Learn how to defeat Boss 6, Goyagma, in Metroid: Other M. This guide covers its attacks, weak points, and strategies for a quick victory.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Goyagma's neck is its weak point.
• Hands can be frozen.

Phases:

1. Goyagma attacks with sliding arms and throws lava. Use Sense Move to dodge. Freeze its neck with Charge Shots, then hit it with a missile. Repeat this process.
2. After the second missile destroys its weak point, Goyagma will continue attacking. Dodge its hands and be aware of fiery geysers. Freeze its right hand when it gets stuck, then jump on its frozen wrist to Overblast it. Press 1 when the Charge gauge fills to avoid being thrown.
3. If Goyagma starts a smashing attack, it may fake you out with a followup attack from its other arm. Avoid these fakeouts or its regular attacks. Freeze its hand, missile the frozen hand, then its head. Overblasting is also an option but takes longer.

Strategy:

• Listen for Goyagma crashing its hand down to distinguish between slow and fast arm swings. No sound means a fast attack.
• Use Sense Move to dodge the lava it throws.
• Charge Shots can freeze Goyagma's neck. Follow up with a missile.
• The second missile will destroy its weak point.
• Be ready to Sense Move to dodge its hands and keep a Charge Shot ready for geysers.
• Freeze its right hand when it gets stuck and jump on its frozen wrist to Overblast. Press 1 as soon as the Charge gauge automatically fills during an Overblast.
• For a very fast finish: after freezing its hand a second time, fire a missile at the hand, then Charge Shot its forehead three times.
• If Goyagma fakes you out with a followup attack, avoid it or its regular attacks, then freeze its hand, missile it, and then target its head.

Post-Boss Navigation:

1. Travel left down the crater (Morph Ball is faster) to avoid Dessgeegas and enter the door at the bottom.
2. Clear Sovas and continue right, past the elevator.
3. Beware of Heat Bulls, then enter the next room with Zebesians.
4. Ignore Zebesians and kick climb up. Take the unlocked door.
5. Kill Mellas and get past Dessgeegas.
6. Save at the Navigation Booth.
7. Step into the next room, then immediately run back into the Navigation Booth. Adam will direct you to Sector 2.
8. Return to the elevator room to reach the Main Sector and take the elevator to Sector 2.
9. Clear the Asborean and Sovas in the new area.
10. Leave the Pyrosphere with 29% of items.
