Egg Delivery

Egg delivery quests are considered the most annoying due to the special nature of eggs. Eggs cannot be placed in your item bag and must be physically carried, significantly slowing you down. They are also extremely fragile and will break if you take any damage, including from small monsters like Bnahabra. To complete these quests, you must retrieve an egg from a nest and transport it back to base camp, delivering it to the red item box. As you progress, certain areas may become blocked, forcing you to take longer routes. To mitigate the slowness and frustration, consider equipping skills like Pro Transporter and Marathon Runner.

Gathering

Gathering quests involve collecting non-monster materials from various gathering spots scattered across the map. These spots can be identified by interactable objects like rocks or plants. Approach them and press 'A' to gather. Unlike eggs, these items go into your item bag without hindering your movement. Gathering quests are frequent in low-star quests but appear occasionally at higher levels. To complete a gathering quest, gather the specified items (e.g., ores) and deliver them to the red item box at base camp.

Hunting

Hunting quests make up the majority of your gameplay in monster hunter 4. These involve tracking and defeating monsters, ranging from small minions to large boss-class creatures. These quests demand thorough preparation, including choosing the right equipment. Some hunting quests require you to capture the target monster instead of slaying it, which can be more complex but often more convenient.
