Velocidrome

Alright, so you've run into the Velocidrome, huh? This guy's the boss of the little Velociprey you've probably been swatting around. He's fast, he's small, and he's always on the move, which can make him a real pain to pin down. Don't let his size fool you; he's got a few tricks up his sleeve, but nothing we can't handle. You'll mostly find him chilling in the Everwood area.

Attacks

Velocidrome isn't exactly overflowing with attack variety, but its speed makes up for it. It loves to zip around and hop back just when you think you've got a clear shot.

• Front Bite: This is pretty straightforward – he'll rush you and try to take a chunk out of you. Just roll to the side when he charges, and then go in for some hits while he's recovering.
• Pin Attack: Watch out for this one! He'll jump on you, pin you down, and start chomping away. You'll need to mash buttons or use a specific evasion to get him off.
• Pounce: This is his big hitter. He'll leap forward in a powerful pounce, so you'll need to dodge out of the way quickly.
• Minion Making: Unlike some other monsters that do a big, obvious howl, the Velocidrome summons its Velociprey buddies more subtly. It'll happen when he roars, especially when he's enraged. Keep an eye out for his pack showing up.

Breakable Parts

You can actually break off parts of the Velocidrome, which is great for getting extra materials. The main thing to aim for is:

• The Crest: Hitting his head enough will break off the tips of his crest. This is a good target if you're looking for specific crafting materials.

Weaknesses

To take this speedy bird down efficiently, you'll want to exploit its weaknesses:

• Elemental: He's particularly vulnerable to Ice attacks. If you've got an Ice weapon, now's the time to bring it out!
• Status: Pretty much any Status effect works well against him. Poison, Paralysis, or Sleep can give you a much-needed opening to land some heavy hits.
