    First things first, head to the northern part of Goldshore. You're looking for a Fledgling Fisherman who's got a story about a sea creature.

    He'll mention the Leviathan's Egg. Your goal is to get this egg. You can try to Steal it, but honestly, the chance is pretty low. If you have Tressa in your party, it's way easier to just Purchase it.

    Once you've got the egg, you need to leave Goldshore. Head out and cross the first bridge you see. Keep going south and cross another bridge.

    At the very end of this path, look towards the north. You should spot the entrance to a dungeon called Captain's Bane. Head inside!

    Make your way through Captain's Bane. At the very end of the dungeon, you'll come face-to-face with the boss of this quest – the Leviathan. Get ready for a fight!
Tips
  • The Leviathan can be a real challenge, especially if you're tackling this at the end of Chapter 2. It starts with three actions per turn and hits hard.
  • When the fight begins, the Leviathan summons a Crimson Urchin and a Sea Urchin. These guys block its center weaknesses and can deal damage themselves. You'll want to take them out ASAP. The Sea Urchin is weak to daggers, staves, fire, and light. The Crimson Urchin is weak to swords, axes, lightning, and dark.
  • Even after you defeat the Urchins, the Leviathan can resummon them. If this happens, take them out quickly again, as the boss can devour them to heal for 5,000 HP.
  • The Leviathan has some nasty moves. Constrictor can inflict Unconscious, which is super annoying if it hits your healer. Sweep hits your whole party, and Tentacle Bash delivers three to five random hits that can really hurt a single character.
  • The boss starts with four shields, but after it recovers, it gains two more, for a total of eight.
  • When the Leviathan hits yellow health, it can start using Dissolving Mist, which removes all your party's buffs. It can also use a boosted attack followed by Rampage, hitting the whole party.
  • To make the fight more manageable, bring a Merchant for defense buffs and a Thief to use Shackle Foe to lower the Leviathan's physical attack.
  • While the Urchins are out, you can still hit the Leviathan's weaknesses with spears and wind. Its main weaknesses are bow, fire, and lightning. A Warrior or Hunter with multi-hit attacks can help break its shields quickly.
  • Don't hang around too long! Hitting hard and fast is key to winning this fight.
