Alright, let's tackle the 'Arena Aspirations' side story in Octopath Traveler. This one's found in Victors Hollow and is a pretty straightforward quest, especially if you know the trick!

When: Chapter 2-3
Where: Victors Hollow
Reward: 4,800 Leaves, Refreshing Jam

You'll find a Listless Gladiator hanging around the southern part of Victors Hollow, right outside the tavern. He's lost his passion for fighting, but there's a kid who really looks up to him. The Gladiator wants to show the kid that being a fighter isn't all it's cracked up to be.

There are two ways to wrap this up, and one is definitely easier than the other. The tough way? You can actually challenge the Gladiator to a duel. If you've got a character who can use Challenge or Provoke, you can go head-to-head. Just be warned, this guy's got a Strength stat of nine and hits pretty hard with physical attacks. He's only weak to elemental damage like fire, ice, wind, and darkness, so you'll need to bring your A-game if you go this route.

The much, much easier solution involves using the 'Inquire' or 'Scrutinize' ability. For this, you'll need either Cyrus or Alfyn in your active party. Head over to the Doting Aunt standing just west of the Gladiator. Use 'Inquire' (if you have Cyrus) or 'Scrutinize' (if you have Alfyn) on her to get the 'Father and Fighter' information. Once you have that, just talk to the Gladiator and share the info with him. Boom, quest complete!

Since the rewards are the same no matter which method you choose, going with the Inquire/Scrutinize route is definitely the way to go. Save yourself the trouble and get that Refreshing Jam and Leaves!
