Find all the Battle-Tested weapons and shield in Octopath Traveler. Learn where to find NPCs, how to acquire them via Purchase or Steal, and their stats.

This guide details how to acquire all seven pieces of Battle-Tested equipment in Octopath Traveler, including weapons and a shield. Each item is held by a specific NPC and can often be obtained through Purchase or Steal.

• Battle-Tested Blade: Complete Olberic's Fourth Chapter. Head to Wellspring and find Erhardt in the large house on the western end to Purchase it. Alternatively, find an NPC in Lower Bolderfall inside a guarded house. The 10-strength Townsperson inside is purely physical.
• Battle-Tested Spear: Complete the Side Story 'Mikk and Makk Make Good'. Find Captain Leon on the docks in Rippletide to Purchase or Steal. The NPC who drops it is in Rippletide, west of the inn, inside a house blocked by an NPC (strength of six). The Elderly Woman inside can boost her physical attack and uses Peerless Strike and Mighty Blow.
• Battle-Tested Dagger: Find Vanessa inside Undertow Cove (entrance behind a large rock formation on the eastern side of North Rippletide Coast). You can Steal or Purchase it from her. The NPC who drops it is the Guard Captain in front of Ravus Manor. He uses Slow Motion and physical attacks, and is weak to swords and spears.
• Battle-Tested Axe: Find Ned in the northern area of Victors Hollow, down the stairs towards the arena, to Purchase or Steal. The NPC who drops it is in Atlasdam's tavern, on the left side. This NPC is purely physical and can increase their strength.
• Battle-Tested Bow: Finish H’aanit’s Fourth Chapter. Find Z’aanta near the save point in S’warkii to Purchase it with Tressa. The NPC who drops it is an Old Storyteller inside the S’warkii tavern, who uses Ice Storm and Lux Congerere, requiring elemental defense.
• Battle-Tested Staff: Find Bishop Bartolo inside the cathedral in Saintsbridge to Purchase it (Steal has a 0% chance). The NPC who drops it is an Elderly Woman in the cemetery in Clearbrook, who buffs her physical attack before using physical attacks, requiring physical defense.
• Battle-Tested Shield: Fast travel to Marsalim. Find Grieg the Unbreakable in the middle of the square to Purchase it with Tressa (Steal is not possible). The NPC who drops it is the Muttering Codger at the base of the hill in Flamesgrace, who is physically oriented.
