Item Stock

Learn about the item stock in Super Mario World, where power-ups are stored when you find a better one or lose your current power.

The item stock is a blue box outline located at the top of the screen. When you acquire a power-up that is the same as or less powerful than the one you currently possess, it is automatically stored in the item stock. If you lose your current power-up, the stored item will drop from the box, allowing Mario to collect it again. You can also manually drop the item from the item stock by pressing the Select button.
