Switch Palaces

Learn about the four Switch Palaces in Super Mario World and how they permanently activate dotted blocks into ! blocks.

There are four different colors of dotted blocks: Yellow, Red, Blue, and Green. At corresponding Switch Palaces, you can activate these dotted blocks into permanent ! blocks. The Yellow Switch Palace activates yellow dotted blocks, the Red Switch Palace activates red dotted blocks, and so on for blue and green.

Apart from the Yellow Switch Palace, the others are well hidden and require searching for. These activated blocks are useful during the game. The red and blue blocks can fill up certain gaps, making paths shorter. The yellow and green blocks provide power-ups when you might need them most.
