Learn how to use sailboats in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to quickly traverse waterways. Discover boat speeds, damage indicators, and how to avoid sinking.

Sailboats are scattered throughout the waterways of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, offering a faster way to travel than swimming. To use a boat, Geralt must board it and interact with the rear.

Boats generally have three speeds:

• Slow – Offers the best maneuverability.
• Fast – Achieved by holding the run button.

A silhouette of the boat, located on the left side of the screen below Geralt's health bar, indicates its condition. Initially white, it turns red as the boat sustains damage from collisions with rocks or enemy attacks. If the boat sinks due to excessive damage, Geralt will be forced to swim ashore.
