Investigating Bram's Disappearance

Elva will tell you that Bram was last seen heading towards the nearby swamps, where he was supposed to meet someone. She suspects foul play and wants Geralt to find him. Use your Witcher Senses to examine the area around Elva's home and follow the trail Bram left behind. The trail will lead you into the swamp, where you'll find further clues.

Tracking the Creature

As you follow Bram's trail, you'll encounter ss of a struggle and eventually discover that Bram was attacked by a monster. Your Witcher Senses will help you identify the creature's tracks and scent. The trail will lead you deeper into the swamp, towards a small, abandoned hut. Inside the hut, you'll find more evidence and learn about the creature's nature.

The Monster: A Water Hag

The creature responsible for Bram's disappearance is a Water Hag. These monsters are known to inhabit swamps and waterways, preying on unsuspecting travelers. They are amphibious and can be quite dangerous in their element. You'll need to prepare for this fight by brewing appropriate potions and oils.

Preparation and Strategy

• Potions: Swallow (for health regeneration) and Thunderbolt (for increased attack power) are highly recommended.
• Oils: Apply Specter Oil to your silver sword, as Water Hags are considered specters.
• Ss: Yrden can be useful for slowing down the Water Hag, and Quen can provide a protective shield.
• Combat: The Water Hag has a powerful tongue attack and can regenerate health if it manages to retreat into the water. Try to keep it on dry land and use fast attacks, dodging its lunges and tongue lashes.

Confronting the Water Hag

After gathering all the clues, you'll eventually track the Water Hag to its lair, likely a submerged cave or a particularly dense part of the swamp. The fight will be challenging, especially if you're not well-prepared. Focus on dodging its attacks and striking when you see an opening. Once the Water Hag is defeated, search its lair for any remains of Bram and any loot it may have dropped.

Returning to Elva

Once the Water Hag is dead, you have a choice to make regarding Bram. You will find evidence that Bram was not entirely innocent and was involved in some shady dealings. Depending on your findings and dialogue choices, you can report back to Elva with the truth, or a slightly altered version of it. Regardless of your report, you will receive your reward for completing the contract.

Rewards

Upon completion of the contract, you will receive a sum of Crowns and experience points. The exact amount may vary slightly based on your dialogue choices and how you handle the situation with Bram's fate.
