Upon arrival, you'll need to find Mikkjal and use his key to enter the lighthouse. Inside, you'll discover that Mikkjal is afflicted by a curse. Your task is to defend him from a formidable foe known as the Penitent until he can light the lighthouse. Once the Penitent is defeated, you'll have a choice regarding Mikkjal's fate, which will conclude the contract and potentially lead into a related secondary quest.

Ard Skellig – Gedvneith Grove: Echoes of the Past

The main quest "Echoes of the Past" brings you to the Druids' Camp at Gedyneith on Ard Skellig. Here, you'll find Yennefer and Ermion in a heated discussion. Yennefer will proceed to use the Mask of Uroboros, an action that requires your assistance to properly uncover Ciri's past. After this event, you'll receive information about progressing to Hindarsfjall. It's recommended to choose not to accompany Yennefer immediately, allowing you to explore other side activities before continuing the main storyline.

Gwent Challenges in Skellige

While in the Skellige region, several opportunities arise to challenge NPCs to Gwent matches, often yielding unique Gwent cards. After completing the "Shock Therapy" secondary quest and freeing Ermion, he becomes available for a Gwent duel at Gedvneith Grove. He uses a Monster deck and rewards you with the unique Hero card, Leshen. Following this, you can challenge Gremist, who also uses a Nilfgaardian deck and grants the Mysterious Elf Hero card. Later, at Kaer Trolde, you can face Crach an Craite, who employs a Monster deck and is a formidable opponent. Be aware of a potential bug when attempting to challenge Crach; if he doesn't acknowledge the Gwent quest, you may need to complete the "King Maker" secondary quest to resolve it.

Environmental Kills Achievement

The "Environmentally Unfriendly" achievement requires you to defeat 50 opponents using environmental hazards. This can include exploding barrels, iting swamp or cave gas, poisoning enemies with gas, using beehives, or knocking enemies off ledges with the Aard s. A particularly effective method for farming this achievement is to use Aard to knock bandits off their horses, which results in an instant kill. While it's possible to farm this, it's often best to let it unlock naturally as you play, as grinding it can be challenging.
