Warcraft III: Reforged Cult of the Damned mission walkthrough. Train peasants, build defenses, and assemble your army to confront Kel'thuzad.
Walkthrough
- 1After taking control, train approximately 7 additional peasants. Assign 5 to gold and 4-5 to lumber.
- 2Immediately start building farms with one peasant. Use shift command to queue multiple farms if needed, but ensure sufficient resources before starting construction.
- 3Construct a lumber mill in the grove to the left of the right entrance at the bottom of your base.
- 4Defend against the initial attack, focusing fire on necromancers. Use Jaina's Water Elemental and cast Blizzard to deal with skeleton warriors and ghouls.
- 5Continue building farms until you have 4 or 5. Once the lumber mill is built, research improved masonry. Move the lumber-gathering peasant to harvest near the lumber mill.
- 6Once you have sufficient resources, upgrade your Town Hall to a Keep.
- 7Build defensive towers. Attacks will only come from the north path. Build 10 scout towers in two rows of five, positioned north to south, centered between the north and south treeline, just above where the forest on the left ends, to cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) attacks from the west.
- 8Keep your current units in front of the towers until defenses are established. Upgrade scout towers to watch towers as they are constructed.
- 9Defend with all units if attacked before more than 1 or 2 towers are up. Keep the mortar team behind the towers and set to hold position.
- 10Once all towers are building, research improved lumber harvesting from the lumber mill. Start building a blacksmith.
- 11When resources allow, construct an Arcane Sanctum and then a Workshop. Simultaneously, have another peasant build farms until you reach at least 70 food supply.
- 12Once the blacksmith is built, research all available upgrades, including improved defense for footmen and long rifles for riflemen.
- 13After all 10 towers are constructed, position Arthas and Jaina in front, with other units behind them. This conserves resources by protecting weaker units and facilitates Jaina's Blizzard spell. Use Jaina's Water Elemental spell as well.
- 14Assign one peasant to auto-repair towers, and have them harvest lumber between attacks, pulling them back when attacked.
- 15After the Arcane Sanctum is built, research Adept Training for priests.
- 16Once upgrades are in progress, begin training your army: approximately 7 footmen, 7 riflemen, 3-4 priests, and 3 mortar teams (adjusting for any starting units lost). If many units were lost, keep unit supply at 40 or less until the low gold mine warning.
- 17Ensure 6 peasants are on the gold mine and check for idle peasants.
- 18For the next attack, likely involving necromancers, use Jaina's Blizzard spell. Keep Jaina and Thrall near the defensive towers for support.
- 19Continue training units as resources allow. Level up Arthas's Holy Light and Jaina's Blizzard. Ensure you have 70 food supply by building more farms if necessary.
- 20With your army assembled (around 65 food), and your gold mine likely collapsing soon, ensure you have at least 450 gold saved. This is the cost to build a new Town Hall to access the eastern gold mine if needed.
- 21Set up attack groups: Group 1 (Arthas, Jaina, footmen), Group 2 (Arthas, riflemen, priests), Group 3 (mortar teams).
- 22Send Group 1 in first, followed by Group 2, with Group 3 supporting from the rear.
- 23Warning: SAVE YOUR GAME before initiating the attack.
Tips
- Focus fire on necromancers as they summon skeleton warriors.
- Keep Jaina and Arthas in front during defense as they can withstand damage and are easier to target with spells.
- Shift command peasants to build multiple structures efficiently.
- Keep an eye on your idle peasants and ensure they are assigned to resource gathering.
- If your gold mine runs out, you may need to access the eastern gold mine, which requires building a new Town Hall costing 450 gold.
- Routinely check your peasant assignments to gold and lumber.
