Complete the Hellscream quest in Warcraft III: Reforged by capturing Grom and bringing him to Jaina's Ritual Circle. Includes walkthrough and tips.
Walkthrough
- 1Train 5 more peons. Assign the first two to build towers at the north and east entrances of your base. Rally the rest to lumber.
- 2Build a couple of towers at each entrance and research the spiked barricades upgrade as soon as possible.
- 3Produce towers with one peon at each entrance, research the spiked barricades upgrade, and upgrade to a fortress as soon as possible to quickly max out the spiked barricades upgrade.
- 4Aim for 10 total towers at the north entrance and 6 at the east entrance.
- 5Use Cairne and Thrall to defend your base as needed. You can send them to Jaina's base to help defend and gain experience.
- 6Occasionally, attacks will come from the path between your base and Jaina's. Use your heroes to kite them to your towers or into Jaina's base. Do not build towers here; rely on your north towers and Jaina's base.
- 7Once defense towers are queued and spiked barricades upgrades are in progress, research all weapon and armor upgrades.
- 8Research shaman and witch doctor adept/master training. Consider the troll regeneration upgrade for witch doctors if resources allow.
- 9As resources permit, build three more burrows and a bestiary near the back of your base, close to the lumber harvesting area.
- 10After a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (an in-game cinematic event) showing infernals, use your heroes to kite them to towers. Infernals are immune to magic.
- 11Continue upgrading and repairing towers, prioritizing spiked barricades if not yet finished. Build more towers if they struggle against chaos attacks. The majority of attacks come from the north.
- 12Once the bestiary is up, research the war drums and envenomed spears upgrades.
- 13Build a tauren totem. Your attack group will consist of fewer, more powerful units, with Taurens benefiting greatly from the witch doctors' healing ward.
- 14When orcs attack with catapults, send Thrall, Cairne, and your spirit wolves to eliminate them. Spirit wolves are invisible until they attack, allowing them to reach catapults undetected.
- 15Level up Thrall and Cairne. For Thrall, focus on Far Sight. For Cairne, prioritize maxing War Stomp and Shockwave, then the aura.
- 16Once your tauren totem is up, research the Pulverize ability.
- 17Ensure all upgrades are complete. If lumber is an issue, build another war mill further into the forest. Maintain 5-6 peons on lumber.
- 18Once all upgrades are complete, start training Taurens and Wyverns. Aim for 6 Taurens, 6 Wyverns, 2 Catapults, 3 Shamans, 2 Witch Doctors, and 1 Kodo Beast. This composition, with 12 peons, will bring you near the food cap.
- 19Place Taurens with Thrall and Cairne. Keep Wyverns in their own group.
Tips
- Keep an eye on your minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) (a small map display, usually in a corner of the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap) - Heads-Up Display) for incoming attacks and infernals.
- When infernals appear, check your minimap for any green targets.
- Use your heroes to kite enemies to towers or Jaina's base to conserve your own units.
- Upgrade your base defenses early, especially spiked barricades, to handle the constant assaults.
- Focus on powerful units like Taurens, supported by Witch Doctors and Shamans, for your main attack force.
- Use Thrall's Far Sight ability to scout the area around Grom once all upgrades are complete.
