Detailed walkthroughs for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance's Overlord Recruitment Maps, including enemy stats, equipment, and strategies for Overlord of Revenge, Mushroom King, The Dragon Overlord, and Prideful King.

This guide covers the extra maps available for recruiting Overlords in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. These maps present significant challenges with higher-level enemies and unique Evilities.

Overlord of Revenge

This map is a step up from previous ones, featuring Lv. 15 Logan as the main threat. While recruiting Logan, a Wrestler, is beneficial, don't hesitate to postpone the fight until your party is around his level. Among the generic units, the two Fight Artists are particularly dangerous due to their Blasting Fist Evility, which reduces your DEF by 10% upon hit. It's advisable to deal with the other enemy sets first, as the Fight Artists are positioned near Logan. Once the other enemies are cleared, focus on Logan and the remaining foes. Logan's Overload Skill allows him to throw 2 panels further, but this has minimal impact on this battle.

Lv. 12 Fight Artist (x2)Forehead Flicker, Cotton BandanaFury, Blasting Fist

Mushroom King

Erynder Z, at Lv. 25, is the primary challenge here and may be too high for your current party unless you've been powerleveling. Avoid normal attacks from Erynder Z and the Eryngi units, as their Evilities can inflict Weaken. Erynder Z can also inflict Poison, Sleep, and Paralysis. Weaken, combined with the Shrooms' main Evility, can be particularly problematic for female melee units, so consider using ranged attacks with them. Take your time and don't rush into battle. Remember that the random mushrooms that appear can be beneficial if thrown near enemies.

EnemiesEquipmentEvility
Lv. 25 Erynder ZMedal of Evil, Camo-Clothes, GlassesShroom Power, Bad Trip, Listless Spores
Lv. 20 Matango (x4)Eerie Medal, Top HatShroom Power, Mushroom Doping
Lv. 18 Eryngi (x2)Eerie Medal, Top HatShroom Power, Listless Spores

Erynder Z is the biggest problem in this battle. The normal Shrooms are weak to fire.

The Dragon Overlord

On the enemy's first turn, the middle Mythic Fox with only 'Good Fortune' will Magichange with the Chunin in front of it, granting the Chunin 'Good Fortune' and a slight stat boost. This is generally not a major concern unless the Bonus Gauge is significantly boosted. Prioritize the three Exorcists, two of whom wield bows. Grouping your characters can encourage them to use bow skills instead of regular attacks, potentially dealing less damage and negating the bonus damage from Bushido. The Chunin near Drumdawn has 'Gale Blessing', enhancing his Wind attacks by 20%, and can inflict ailments. The other two Foxes offer a 10% boost to their elemental spells. The three Chunin near Drumdawn have 'Feint', which negates counterattacks, but it's best to attack from a distance to avoid their Unique Evility. Drumdawn himself is a Twin Dragon and can attack twice per turn if he doesn't move. His Feather Token provides a 20% equipment bonus, making it a prime target for a Thief to steal. 'Cold Blessing' grants him a 10% boost to his single water elemental skill, Frosty Breeze.

Prideful King

The enemies in this stage benefit significantly from each other's presence. The Orc Masters' 'Mass Psyche' grants a 3% stat boost for every other enemy on the map, plus an additional 5% for each enemy within 2 panels ('Group Strategy'). The Horsemen and Imps with 'Motor Gang' receive a 5% stat boost for every Orc, Horseman, and Imp on the map. As enemies are defeated, these boosts diminish. This map also features a Netherworld Effect that randomly damages characters.
