Explore Cobblestone and the Heliodor Region in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Find items like the Seed of Life and learn about enemies.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head back to Cobblestone village. The south of the village is now unblocked.
  2. 2
Go east to find a pot in a small outbuilding.
  3. 3
Continue to the river to find a couple of breakable barrels.
  4. 4
Go east to the isolated building to find a couple of barrels out the back.
  5. 5
Access the map menu via your minimap (a display showing your immediate surroundings and objectives) and select "Sparkly spots" to see resource gathering points. All points in the village will have recharged.
  6. 6
Leave Cobblestone through the northern gate.
  7. 7
In the Heliodor Region, you will encounter enemies such as Slime, Needler, Stark Raven, Dracky, Cruelcumber, Bunicorn, Lampling, Hammerhood, Platypunk, Toady, and Fright Bulb. The Platypunk is tougher than other enemies, Bunicorns can charge for a powerful attack, Lamplings (appearing at night) use fire attacks, and Fright Bulbs can cause paralysis with a shout attack.
  8. 8
By fighting enemies, you can reach around level 7-8 without excessive grinding. At level 5, you will acquire the Heal spell. Weaker enemies may flee as you level up, so prioritize them for experience.
  9. 9
Take advantage of pre-emptive strikes to earn the Pre-Emptor trophy.
  10. 10
In the first clearing, use the bell to summon your mount. More bells are marked on your map.
  11. 11
Reveal Sparkly Spots on the map to easily locate resources.
  12. 12
Note that all exits from the Heliodor Region map are currently blocked except for the northern one.
  13. 13
From the Parting Place, go north through the passage.
  14. 14
When you emerge into the main open area, walk along the eastern rock wall until you find a chest containing a SEED OF LIFE.
  15. 15
In the center of the region, you will find a campsite where you can rest and save your game. An NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) will provide a tutorial.
  16. 16
There is a chest behind the building at the campsite containing 80G.
  17. 17
You can hop down the nearby well to enter a hidden area with a Sparkly Spot that yields strong medicine.
  18. 18
The campsite also offers a store, though its items are not particularly valuable at this stage.
  19. 19
North of the campsite is a river; search the pier for breakable barrels.
  20. 20
In the eastern region, south towards the Emerald Coast exit, you will find a tent with breakable pots.
  21. 21
In the northern part of the eastern region, find a chest containing a Single Phial.
  22. 22
    Head north to Heliodor.
  23. 23
In Heliodor, your minimap indicates enterable buildings and quest givers (as purple dots).
  24. 24
A little girl near the lower ward offers the quest Amelia's in a Pickle.
  25. 25
A man near the steps to the upper ward offers the quest The Soldier and the Strategist - A Tale of Two Heroes.
  26. 26
In the western back alley of the lower ward, enter a dwelling. Loot the ground floor's breakable pots and barrels, examine the bookshelf, and loot the wardrobe.
  27. 27
On the first floor of the dwelling, access the balcony for more pots.
  28. 28
Go outside, head west down the steps, then north into a passageway. Climb the ladders to the roof.
  29. 29
Descend the chimney to access a locked room containing pots (one with a SEED OF DEFTNESS) and a bookshelf.
  30. 30
From a balcony in this room, find a chest containing a Gold Bracer.
  31. 31
North of the western back alley is the weapon shop and armory. The armorier's stock is not recommended over your current Trodain gear.
  32. 32
In the northwest corner of the western area, smash pots. At the western end, find barrels.
  33. 33
In the eastern back alley, the inn allows you to advance time. The man next to the innkeeper allows you to bank money; it is advisable to bank funds if you have over 1000G, as death costs half your current holdings.
  34. 34
Upstairs rooms in the inn contain a lootable wardrobe, pots, barrels, and a bookshelf. Another door leads to a balcony with more barrels.
  35. 35
East of the inn is an item shop. South of that is a dwelling with pots by a market stall.
  36. 36
Inside this dwelling, go up stairs and down more to access the area behind the item shop, where a pot can be smashed.
  37. 37
Go back up the stairs and up the ladder to access a roof. From here, go east onto another roof to find a chest with a MINI MEDAL.
  38. 38
Return to the previous roof and cross to another accessible roof to find Amelia, a cat in trouble. Return her to the crying girl for a bag of kitty litter.
  39. 39
In the southeastern corner of the area, climb a platform for breakable barrels.
  40. 40
Enter a nearby dwelling and examine the bookshelf to find 'The Soldier and the Strategist'.
Tips
  • The minimap is crucial for navigating Heliodor and locating points of interest and quest givers.
  • Consider banking your money at the inn in Heliodor, as losing half your current gold upon death can be detrimental.
  • Prioritize weaker enemies for experience gain, especially if you are aiming for the Pre-Emptor trophy.
  • Use the map feature to mark Sparkly Spots to avoid missing out on valuable resources.
