Explore the Gallopolis Region and Sultanate in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Find MINI MEDALs, recipes, and unlock quests.
Walkthrough
- 1In the Gallopolis Region, be aware of tougher enemies like Prestidigitator, Chimera, Cactiball, Skullrider, Metal Slime, Brownie, Robber Rabbit, and Golden Globe. Chimeras use fiery breath, and Metal Slimes appear at night; focus attacks on Metal Slimes before they flee, as they have 3 HP and take 1 HP of damage per hit unless you have the Metal Slash sword ability. Defeating a Metal Slime yields significant XP.
- 2The northern map section past the Celestial Sands (a checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)) and the western exit to Laguna di Gondolia are blocked.
- 3Find a chest with a MINI MEDAL in the southern area.
- 4Take the northern exit to the Sultanate of Gallopolis.
- 5Search two eastern dwellings for minor loot and a bookshelf. Break barrels in the alley between them.
- 6Behind the southeasternmost building, find a chest with a MINI MEDAL.
- 7Enter the church, find a TRAVELLER'S HOOD in the wardrobe, and break a barrel on the upper level for minor loot.
- 8In the dwelling east of the church, examine the ground floor bookshelf and find minor loot upstairs. Break barrels outside.
- 9North of the stables, enter a dwelling for a bookshelf and minor loot in the wardrobe. Break pots in the northwest corner.
- 10Talk to the man in red to receive the quest "A Walk on the Wild Side," which requires using the Wild Side pep ability to defeat a Spitzfire (not yet encounterable).
- 11Break two sets of barrels for minor loot.
- 12Go up steps to the paddock balcony for minor loot.
- 13East of town, break pots north of the circus. Enter the circus through a side entrance, though there's nothing of interest currently.
- 14The middle building on the east side has a locked Magic Key door.
- 15Next door, talk to the cook to unlock the quest "A Cactus Cutlet to Die For," requiring a Golden Globe defeat and a golden globule collection.
- 16Inside the inn, find the recipe book 'So You Want to Be a Witch' on the bookshelf. Upstairs wardrobes contain a turban.
- 17In the southeastern corner outside the inn, find minor loot.
- 18Buy the Dancer's Costume for Serena from the armour shop, as it's a rare appearance-altering outfit needed for a trophy.
- 19Talk to the dancer outside the armour shop to receive a Puff-Puff.
- 20Downstairs in the inn, loot a sprig of Softwort and some Finessence from pots and barrels.
- 21Go around the side of the weapon shop for minor loot.
- 22Enter the well; the west door is locked, the north passage leads to a Sparkly Spot, and the east passage leads to minor loot.
- 23Find barrels with minor loot near the item shop.
- 24Save your game.
- 25Talk to the guard at the gate to enter the paddock.
- 26Go north to the racetrack to compete in the Bronze Cup (Easy) for 100G or Bronze Cup (Difficult) for 200G. To race, hold R2 to gallop and square to drift; aim for green swirls to restore stamina. The easy race is straightforward; the difficult one may take practice. The easy race prize is Slime Earrings; the difficult race prize is a Gold Bracer. An autosave exists at the racetrack if you lose all your money.
- 27Go up the north steps into the Sultan's Palace.
- 28Gather minor loot from pots against the western wall.
- 29In the prince's bedchamber, find minor loot, two bookshelves, a wardrobe, and a chest with an iron broadsword.
- 30In the sultan's bedchamber (northeast), find a bookshelf, two wardrobes (one with FISHNET STOCKINGS), and a chest with CONCRETE EARRINGS. Gather minor loot along the eastern wall.
- 31Go upstairs for a scene.
- 32After the scene, gather minor loot from vases in the southeast.
- 33Behind the sultan's throne, find a chest containing 1500G.
- 34Go onto the balcony for more minor loot.
- 35Return to the prince's bedchamber and agree to meet him at the circus. If it's not nighttime, rest at an inn or campsite.
- 36At evening, go to the circus and speak to the prince by the main entrance for a scene. He wants you to take his place in a horse race.
- 37In the morning, go to the stables, enter the royal dressing room, and talk to the prince to receive his armour and helmet.
- 38Mount the horse outside and go to the racetrack. Hit green swirlies before stamina runs out to win. Winning unlocks the Out-Stand-In trophy on your first playthrough.
- 39You can now compete in the Silver Cup (Easy, 250G entry fee).
Tips

- The Dancer's Costume for Serena is a rare outfit required for a trophy, so purchase it from the armour shop.
- Practice horse racing on the difficult Bronze Cup to prepare for the prince's race.
- If you lose all your money at the racetrack, the autosave allows you to restart.
