Explore Cassardis Revisited in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Learn about new quests, alternate routes through Moonsbit Pass, and find valuable items and NPCs like Johnathan.
Walkthrough
- 1Alternate Route Through Moonsbit Pass: Return to the gate separating Moonsbit Pass from Estan Plains. To the south of this gate, on the Estan Plains side, are two side passages. The eastern one leads to Moonshower cliffs. The western one runs alongside the conventional Moonsbit Pass route, eventually linking up north of the Waycastle, serving as a shortcut. You may encounter weaker Bandits on this new path.
- 2The Brigands Book: After taking either suggested path, return to the Waycastle and head south towards the Encampment. Near where Bandits first appear on the road, at a bend, you'll find Bandits attacking a robed man named Rowland. Save him if possible, though he has low health and is targeted aggressively. If saved, Rowland will thank you, mentioning the attackers were Southron Bandits who stole Salomet’s Grimoire, a book Steffen desires. He may mention Salvation before stopping.
- 3Johnathan's Pawn-Altering Drugs: Return to the Encampment and check the Notice Board for new quests. In the ‘Command Headquarters’ tent, find Pawn Johnathan. He sells unique items including hair dyes, face/eye pigments, skin pigments, and Elixirs that change Pawn inclinations (e.g., Scather/Challenger Elixirs for combat focus). He also stocks DLC items as they become available as quest rewards and sells prestige items like eyeglasses and rings.
- 4New Quests in Cassardis: Travel east from the Encampment back to Cassardis. Check the Notice Board for new quests, ignoring Escort Requests.
- 5Pablos' Thief Quest: Talk to Pablos, the innkeeper. He asks you to help ward the village from a Thief who has targeted Heraldo’s grocery, Aestella’s apothecary, and Pablos himself. First, speak with Heraldo (usually outside the inn) and Aestella (in her store) to hear their complaints. Return to Pablos, who will reveal his plan: wait until nightfall and catch the thief in a foot race. You can choose to wait or decline for now to pursue other tasks.
- 6Adaro's Quina Quest: Speak with Adaro, the village chief, identifiable by his baldness and a green question mark above his head. He explains that Quina went to the Witchwood seeking a cure for your wound and asks you to find her and bring her back safely. This quest is missable and expires after completing ‘Lure of the Abyss’. It is recommended to be well-equipped, have changed your Vocation, and be generally prepared before undertaking this quest due to the low level and potential difficulty of the Witchwood.
- 7Merin's Valmiro Quest: Find the ‘Fisherman’s House’ northeast of ‘Pablos’ Inn’. Inside, speak with Merin (found wandering his house in the early morning). He has a quest regarding the disappearance of Valmiro, a fellow Cassardite, who may have fallen victim to his own curiosity. You can speak to other villagers for story and flavor information.
