After defeating the Dragon in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, return to Cassardis and Gran Soren to discover new quests, powerful enemies like Grim Goblins, and essential items.

You’ll wake up back in your house in Cassardis, along with your romantic interest. This romantic partner will be making your house their permanent residence. Talk to your lover and they’ll have something to say about your rescue, especially if they are a 'main' NPC. You now have the Godsbane blade in your inventory, which grants the Achievement/Trophy ‘Destiny’ and will be used later. You also have a Crimson Dragon Scale, a material obtained from killing the Dragon. Additionally, you’ll receive new weapons based on what you used to kill the Dragon, which are significantly stronger than your previous gear. Your old gear has also been Dragon-Forged, making it much more powerful.

The world seems changed; the sky appears dark and the Dragon seemed eager to be slain. The Duke and the capital also seem to be in bad shape. It’s recommended to head back to Gran Soren to investigate.

In Cassardis, head to Pablos’ Inn. The Notice Board has a new quest called ‘A Challenge,’ which requires you to track down a rare monster in the Frontier Caverns. Madeleine is also present and, like other merchants, has a fully-stocked inventory with new, powerful, and expensive loot. It’s advised to hold off on buying from merchants for now, as you’ll find better loot for free through adventuring. Always check merchants and Notice Boards for new items and quests. You can also stash excess loot and talk to villagers in Cassardis to learn more about the state of the world and the ‘fall’ of Gran Soren.

When you’re ready, leave Cassardis and head west along the road towards Gran Soren. The Seabreeze Trail and Manamia Trail, previously less detailed due to sparse loot and uninteresting encounters, are now more dangerous. The world is in ruins, and civilized areas are now patrolled by dangerous beasts.

You’ll encounter Goblins on the road, but these are ‘Grim Goblins,’ far stronger than their lesser counterparts. Grim Goblins, like regular Goblins, can use torches, throwing objects, and shields, but they are better armed with serrated, black, wing-tipped swords. They are stronger, sturdier, and harder to knock down, making them more aggressive and dangerous in melee combat.

In the woods to the south, you might find Hellhounds and more Grim Goblins. The chests in this area contain the same low-quality loot as before; the focus is on the new monsters. A Gorechimera prowls the beach, a more potent threat than the usual inhabitants.

Head into the Encampment. Inside the ‘Command Headquarters’ tent, speak with Johnathan. He sells custom items for Rift Currency. Check his ‘Other’ section for the ‘Secret of Metamorphosis’ item, costing 10,000 RC. This item adds an option to the main menu that allows for character customization.
