Ready for another round in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen? Your second playthrough (New Game +) lets you keep your gear, skills, and Pawns. Discover new quests, unique rewards, and tackle tougher challenges with your retained power.
So, you've seen the credits roll in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. What's next? Well, it's time to do it all over again, but this time, you're coming back stronger!
After the credits finish, don't hit 'New Game.' Instead, select 'Load Game' from the main menu. This is your ticket to New Game Plus (NG+). Don't worry, your old character and their progress are safe.
What's the point of playing again?
- Your character keeps ALL their experience, Vocation Ranks, Skills, and attributes. Those monsters that gave you a hard time before? You'll be able to absolutely demolish them now.
- Your Main Pawn comes along for the ride, retaining their stats and abilities.
- You keep every single piece of equipment you've gathered, all your crafting Materials, your hard-earned gold, and any Rift Currency you've accumulated.
- Get ready for new Notice Board quests scattered across Gransys. Many of these are quite lucrative, offering great rewards for your efforts.
- All your main quest progress resets. This is your chance to tackle any missions you might have missed the first time around, or to explore alternate quest outcomes if you're curious about different story paths.
- NPCs remember your previous interactions. Their affinity for you (good or bad) carries over, so expect them to react accordingly.
- Merchants will still offer the advanced stock options you unlocked in your previous playthrough.
- You can earn a second Gold Idol. If you gave the first one to Caxton, now you can give this one to Madeleine, or vice-versa. Make sure to choose wisely!
- A new Riftstone appears on the south-western beach of Cassardis' Starfall Bay. This teleports you directly to the Chamber of Lament, where you can challenge the Ur-Dragon again.
- The Black Cat's Mountebank now sells Portcrystals for a steep 200,000 gold each. With enough of these, you can strategically place them across Gransys, making travel a breeze and eliminating the need for constant walking.
- When you face the Dragon again, consider switching Vocations or bringing a different weapon set. This allows you to score unique Dragon weaponry and freely Dragon-Forge another set of equipment. It's highly recommended to be around level 200 for this to maximize your Dragon-Forging potential and avoid unwanted level-ups.
- Your progress in Bitterblack Isle resets. You'll get to replay the early sections of the dungeon, showing those challenging enemies and bosses who's boss this time around.
