Explore the Miasmic Haunt in dragons dogma dark arisen. Find the Fourth Journal Entry at a campsite and beware the toxic waters.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Miasmic Haunt lake is fordable, but contact with its waters during the day inflicts Blindness, Poison, and Silence. At night, the water is harmless and acts like Healing Spring water, but Phantasms lurk. During the day, expect Snow Harpies in the air and Sulfur Saurians on the ground. At night, Phantasms appear over the water.
  2. 2
Search a boat along the north-eastern shore (roughly at the 2:00 position if the lake is a clock face with the river at 12:00) to find a square chest containing a Hunter’s Bow.
  3. 3
Continue exploring clockwise around the lake. At about the 4:00 position, you’ll find a large rock with a Giant Coin Pouch containing 10,000 G.
  4. 4
Continue counter-clockwise to the southern end of the lake to find a campsite with three tents and four chests. One of these chests contains the Fourth Journal Entry.
  5. 5
North of the campsite, across a narrow strip of water, is a small island. A short distance clockwise from the campsite, a small beached ship acts as a bridge to this island.
  6. 6
The island is populated by a variable number of Sulfur Saurians and potentially Snow Harpies. At night, a Wight haunts the island.
  7. 7
Search a rock formation on the southern end of the island. South of these rocks is a square chest containing a Flamberge and a Sight Earring. Upon the rocks is an ornate chest. A wooden cage here contains warrior remains.
  8. 8
Return to the southern campsite and continue clockwise around the lake. Be cautious on the western shore, as up to six Sulfur Saurians may be encountered in the nearby forest.
  9. 9
Continue clockwise to a stream at the northern end of the lake. Follow this stream to where it connects to the lake to find a junky square chest among some rocks. The water here is harmless.
  10. 10
A Chimera prowls along the stream. Defeat it. The northern path from Heavenspeak Fort terminates near this stream.
  11. 11
For completion, follow the road back to Heavenspeak Fort. This path is only interesting at night, when Skeleton Knights and Skeleton Sorcerers appear.
  12. 12
Return to the stream and follow it north until it ends. Examine the cliffs to the north to see Greatwall in the distance.
  13. 13
Backtrack to the lake and follow it counter-clockwise to about the 9:00 position (western edge). Head west through the woods until you find the cliff bounding the Barta Crags.
  14. 14
Search the woods near the cliffs for a junky square chest. Follow the cliffs north and west.
  15. 15
You will find a palisade (a spiky wooden wall). Continue around its edge, where Goblins and Hobgoblins lurk.
  16. 16
Find an entrance to the palisade, marked on your map as ‘Ophis’ Domain’. Kill a Goblinoid and drag its corpse inside to prevent its allies from interfering.
  17. 17
Inside Ophis’ Domain, you will find neutral female Bandits and Ophis’ pet Cyclops. Approach the Cyclops until it notices you and the corpse you brought.
Tips
  • At night, the Miasmic Haunt lake becomes harmless and even healing, but Phantasms appear.
  • Sulfur Saurians and Snow Harpies are not immune to the lake's effects and may become incapacitated if they enter it.
  • The campsite on the southern shore contains the Fourth Journal Entry.
  • The stream at the northern end of the lake is safe to traverse, but a Chimera patrols it.
  • Skeleton Knights and Skeleton Sorcerers can be encountered on the path back to Heavenspeak Fort at night.
  • Dragging a Goblinoid corpse into Ophis' Domain prevents its allies from attacking you while you deal with the Cyclops.
