Learn how to infiltrate Navarro in Fallout 2. This guide covers multiple entry methods, obtaining the vertibird plans and key fob, and interacting with Xarn.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Entry Methods:
    • Gas Station: The first entrance is in the old gas station. Kill the attendant, Chris, to access the subterranean portion of Navarro.
  2. 2
Air Vent: A second entrance is to the west. Enter an air vent to access the area. A blue pass key (found in the Gecko power plant) is needed for a door.
  3. 3
Brotherhood of Steel: Talk to Matt, a Brotherhood of Steel member in San Francisco. Ask him about finding vertibird plans and infiltrating the base. Then, talk to Chris and ask to join the Enclave. He will give you the password "Sheepshead" to use with the gate guard.
  4. 4
Frontal Assault: The last option is to enter the base through the front and assault it.
  5. 5
    Acquire Vertibird Plans:
    • Go to the above-ground part of the base and ask technicians about the plans.
  6. 6
Proceed to the right maintenance wing (with the diesel truck).
  7. 7
Talk to Quincy (mechanic) by the lockers. Ask to see the plans and mention Raul sent you.
  8. 8
If Quincy allows access, take the plans and other items from the lockers.
  9. 9
If authorization is requested, use the 'Sneak' skill and lockpick the lockers.
  10. 10
Go to the left maintenance wing (with the vertibird).
  11. 11
Talk to Raul (mechanic) and tell him what Quincy mentioned.
  12. 12
Raul will confront Quincy, allowing you to examine the loot in the lockers there. (Note: You may have already obtained the plans if you followed the walkthrough for Advanced Power Armor).
  13. 13
    Retrieve Key Fob:
    • Talk to Cookie, the cook in the mess area (building left of the road).
  14. 14
Ask about the base and how to go to the Enclave area. He will mention a FOB.
  15. 15
Go to the subterranean portion of the base and find the hallway leading to the Base Commander's room.
  16. 16
Talk to the commander's guard and state you need the FOB for security reasons to gain entry.
  17. 17
Talk to the Commander inside the room, who will reveal the FOB's location. Retrieve it.
  18. 18
    Interact with Xarn (Deathclaw):
    • Go to the base medical lab (southwest of the underground portion).
  19. 19
Talk to the doctor and ask about deathclaws. Inquire about killing the one held in Navarro.
  20. 20
Agree to kill the deathclaw. Close the medical lab door (staying inside).
  21. 21
Kill the doctor in one shot (he has 45 HP and no armor).
  22. 22
Examine his desk and take the blue pass key (if you don't have one from Gecko).
  23. 23
    Enter the deathclaw chamber.
  24. 24
To Free Xarn: Tell him you'll free him, then use the key card on the locked door.
  25. 25
To Kill Xarn: Tell him you'll free him, then open the locked door and kill him (this costs karma).
  26. 26
To Have Xarn as an Ally: Tell him you'll save him, then go on a killing spree in Navarro. Xarn will join the fight.
  27. 27
    Activate Robo-Dog:
    • The robo-dog in the medical lab needs a motivator unit.
  28. 28
Go to the vertibird garage (overworld) and examine the lockers for the motivation unit (an electric motor looks similar but won't work).
  29. 29
Use the motivation unit on the robo-dog for experience and a new NPC companion. This NPC can traverse Navarro without Power Armor.
Tips
  • Kill Chris, the gas station attendant, in one turn if you choose that entry method.
  • The blue pass key is also found in the Gecko power plant.
  • If Quincy asks for authorization, use the 'Sneak' skill and lockpick the lockers.
  • The robo-dog requires a motivator unit found in the vertibird garage lockers.
