Fallout Tactics Jefferson mission walkthrough: Learn how to disarm mines, find the laser pistol, and deal with turrets.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Move East from the start to the South side of the tanker truck. Use snipers to pick off rocket mutants on the North-East roof. Spread out your forces to minimize damage from mutant rockets, grenades, and machineguns, but keep them close enough to focus fire.
  2. 2
Once the roof is clear, move South-East along the building's South side, with your trapper in the lead. Head towards the ruined wall in the South-West of the building and disarm the mines. If you cannot disarm them, you can shoot them from a distance, but this takes time and requires you to stay out of the explosion radius.
  3. 3
Go up the hallway North and into the middle room along the North-West wall. Find and disarm the mine near the chest, then disarm the trap itself. Inside, you will find 7.62 ammo, grenades, stimpaks, and .50 cal ammo for Browning M2s (if you acquired one previously and have a character with 9 Strength to wield it).
  4. 4
You have two choices: go up the stairs in the North-East corner into a room with a mutant behind a bunker, or go up the South stairs into a room with no mutant, but a nearby room to the North-West with a mutant behind a bunker and access to the next building to the South-East. If you choose the latter, move West to the doorway, go around the corner, and use grenades to deal with the mutant, who is often on 'sneak' mode. If he activates, use concentrated fire. If not, finish him with grenades.
  5. 5
Open the door behind the bunker and snipe the mutant behind the sandbags. Loot the ammo from the mutant and the bookcase. Head up to the next level using the stairs in the West corner. Clear the roof and go to the North corner to find your first energy weapon, the laser pistol. From the rooftop, pick off as many mutants as possible using a sniper rifle. Patrol the entire perimeter of the roof to find hidden enemies.
  6. 6
Return to the street and head North-East towards the bunker. If the mutant is still alive or prone from your rooftop fire, flush him out with grenades and finish him. Move to the next building to the North-East, flush out the mutant, and loot his body, the bookshelf, and the room for more ammo and stimpaks.
  7. 7
Proceed South-East into the second part of the same building, which is the railroad station. Go to the second floor and eliminate the mutants there. Be cautious of a mutant on the second floor wielding a flamer. Take the flamer and the sniper rifle found in the fridge.
  8. 8
Head South-East down the street again. Move South into the alley with the phone booth and watch for mines. Proceed South-East to the West-most corner of the darker gray building next to the chopper. Sneak in and out using Turn-Based (TB) mode to kill the mutants inside. There is another mutant in the next room with the freezers. After clearing these, you can pick off mutants wandering outside through the windows of the cafe.
  9. 9
Exit the building and head East towards the first power station. Watch out for two melee attackers charging from the bunker. Engage them from a distance with rifles. Loot the crate in the bunker and the one hidden behind a wall in the North-West corner of the generator field. Destroy the generator with small arms fire to gain 2000 XP.
  10. 10
Exit the generator field and move West around it through the gap in the North fence. This allows you to attack mutants and their barricades from behind. The barricade is on the road East of the field, with mutants in bunkers and guard posts. If possible, enter the ruined building behind the barricade and go to the second level to find a bookcase with shotgun ammo and stimpaks. You can also snipe a grenadier from here, but be careful of his throwing range.
  11. 11
After looting the shelf, head North-East towards where the grenadier was and enter the building behind him to find a chest containing more .50 cal ammo. Next, enter the building West of here; inside, you'll find a mutant (often crouched) and a workbench with grenades and liquor.
  12. 12
Return to the street and proceed to the ruined warehouse with a large hole in one corner. Loot the bookshelf inside. Then, head up the street towards the second objective on your map. This area is guarded by turrets and mutants. You can try to avoid the turrets, destroy them with explosives, or target their sensors to disable them. Staying out of range and using sniper rifles with plenty of 7.62 ammo is effective. Consider using Combat Time Breakdown (CTB) once you are out of range. You will use ammo quickly, but should have plenty from mutant SAW machineguns. Destroying the generator may disable the turrets.
Tips
  • The scouter vehicle is fast but has low hit points and may be more trouble than it's worth.
  • Spread out your squad to avoid taking heavy damage from concentrated enemy fire.
  • Shooting mines is an alternative to disarming them, but requires careful positioning to avoid the blast radius.
  • The laser pistol is your first energy weapon.
  • Utilize the high ground on rooftops for a significant advantage when engaging enemies with sniper rifles.
  • Be aware of mutants on 'sneak' mode, making them difficult to spot.
  • Flamers are deadly at close range.
  • Turrets can be bypassed, destroyed with explosives, or disabled by targeting their sensors.
  • Using CTB can be effective against turrets once you are out of their range.
  • Destroying the generator may disable the turrets.
