This guide is intended to help players overcome Humankind's highest difficulty by understanding and leveraging the Fame and Legacy systems. It details the AI bonuses on Humankind difficulty and provides strategies to compensate for them, focusing on early-game avoidance of conflict, establishing trade, and expanding strategically.

AI Bonuses on Humankind Difficulty:

• +3 Food per Farmer
• +3 Industry per Worker
• +3 Money per Trader
• +3 Science per Researcher
• +60 Stability
• +2 Combat Strength on all Units

These bonuses, particularly the flat FIMS bonuses, scale less favorably for the AI as the game progresses, making an early-game disadvantage manageable over time. The combat strength bonus necessitates avoiding early wars.

General Strategy:

1. Avoid early warfare (until Classical era at the earliest).
2. Prioritize trading for luxury resources.
3. Select Agrarian and Builder cultures early, and transition to late-game cultures where AI bonuses diminish. Expand widely ('build wide') rather than focusing on a few cities ('build tall').
4. Focus on accumulating Fame by completing Era Stars. Avoid prematurely transcending cultures, as this can lead to missing Fame opportunities. Losing due to insufficient Fame is possible even with a strong in-game position.
