How to Complete the Church Key Puzzles in RE4 Remake

Large Cave Shrine Puzzle (Apostate’s Head): Take your boat southwest across the lake and enter the cave. Dock your boat and proceed to the far northeast. Be aware of dynamite-throwing villagers. On the upper level, near a dynamite-thrower, you'll find a locked door with a stone dais to its left. Interact with the dais and input the three symbols found painted in yellow in the surrounding area. One symbol is opposite the door. Once the door opens, interact with the statue to collect the Apostate’s Head. You will be ambushed by villagers, including a Plaga Guadana enemy, after picking up the head.

Small Cave Shrine Puzzle (Blasphemer’s Head): Return to your boat and head northeast across the lake. Approach the castle in the distance and find the cave entrance marked by a torch. Dock your boat inside the cave. The stone dais will be next to the door directly in front of you. Input the symbols found painted in the surrounding area into the dais. Once the door opens, interact with the statue to acquire the Blasphemer’s Head.

Completing the Puzzle: Return to the Mural Cave in the southeast of the lake and go to the stone pedestal. Place both the Apostate’s Head and the Blasphemer’s Head into the hands on either side of the pedestal. This will loosen the contraption, allowing you to pick up the Church Insignia Key.
