Part 27

Master the Amalgam Alpha boss fight in The Evil Within Part 27. Learn strategies for both phases, find item locations, and discover rewards.

After disabling the bomb and hitting the lever, you can proceed. Killing the optional boss here grants a special reward: no cutscene of you rushing to the elevator. This allows you to collect items to the right of the elevator: [5 SNIPER ROUNDS], [10 PISTOL AMMO], [4 SHOTGUN SHELLS], [6 PARTS], [1000 GREEN GEL], and a statue with an [ORDINARY KEY]. This is in addition to the 16,000 Green Gel reward for defeating her. Enter the elevator to continue the chapter.

After the elevator, you'll be in familiar territory. All doors are locked. The door that previously led to the save hub has [MAP FRAGMENT 20] against it. Pick it up and proceed to the next scene.

After the scene, look right for [1000 GREEN GEL]. Ahead is a red door where you can find the [IRREGULARITIES AT HOSPITAL] newspaper and the [MISSING PERSONS POSTER - MARCELO] in their usual spots within the save hub. Continue through the tunnel. The next room contains [3 HANDGUN AMMO], [3 MATCHES], and [3 PARTS]. The room after that has [300 GREEN GEL] (where the creature first smashes through the wall). Reach the end of the tunnel to initiate a boss fight.

BOSS: AMALGAM ALPHA

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Tail eye (Phase 1)
• Belly eye (Phase 2)
• Explosives and heavy hitters are effective.
• Shock bolts and traps are effective due to its speed.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The creature searches with its tail eye. Shoot the eye (shotgun, Flash Bolt, or Sniper Rifle recommended) to temporarily stun it. Use this time to attack its body with explosives or grenades. The creature will recover and rush towards you. You can hide in two storage rooms. Quickly loot them and then attack the creature as it approaches. It will grab you, causing minor damage. You can also try to outrun its grab move and hide again.
2. Phase 2: The creature mutates, its eye enlarged and in its belly. It is very fast. Use a Spark Bolt to stun it, then attack its eye with explosive bolts. Planting a shock trap near the explosive barrels in the middle corridor is also effective. Be aware of its one-hit KO move if it catches you.

Strategy:

• In Phase 1, focus on stunning the tail eye to create attack windows.
• In Phase 2, prioritize stunning the belly eye and using traps due to the creature's speed.
• Explosive barrels in the middle corridor can be used with shock traps for significant damage.
• Recover bolts whenever possible.
• Explore the area after the fight to collect any missed items.
