Navigate Part 41 of The Evil Within with our guide. Learn how to handle Ruvik's one-hit kills, survive the barn fight with strategic bolt usage, and find all keys.
Walkthrough:
- Mansion Navigation: When Ruvik appears, lead him in circles in a semi-open area. Do not get too far ahead of him, but keep him behind you until he disappears. Collect all keys in the mansion, as they are crucial for Chapter 10. The puzzles for the brain door and music room key are similar to Survival mode.
- Creepy Dolls and Trap Room: The path through this room is the same as in Survival mode. Be aware of additional traps in Nightmare Mode, including bear traps on the floor and bombs. Listen for bomb beeps and outrun or sneak past them.
- Barn Fight: This is the final challenge of the chapter. Enemies will spawn, and Ruvik's blood form will wander. Avoid using flash bolts as Sebastian's melee animation can leave you vulnerable. Instead, use shock bolts to stun groups and burn them, or grenades if they are spread out. Collect all available ammo and bolts during the fight, as you won't have another chance after defeating enough enemies (6-7 kills).
- Chapter 10 Introduction: After the barn fight, you'll begin elements of Chapter 10. Collect the first key. An extra sniper will appear in the carousel section. Be prepared for two enemies sneaking out of the door to the first generator; shoot them as their blades pass for an easy kill.
- Hub Area and Ruvik Clone: In the small hub area, reload and get the second key. The room to the left contains many enemies and a Ruvik Clone. A strategy is to lure common enemies out into the hub area before engaging them. Ruvik patrols from the left room back to the battery room. You can sneak up on him for a powerful attack, but be wary of an enemy in the corner.
- Generator and Ogre: Start the generator and head outside. Kill the enemies and prepare for the ogre. Throw a grenade as the door opens and lead the ogre back to the area outside the generator to
