Follow this complete walkthrough for The Outer Worlds' 'Pay for the Printer' quest, including saving the Van Noys, repairing the printing press, and earning your rewards.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Make your way southwest from the Van Noys to the Terra One Publications building. Clear out the raptidons around the building.
  2. 2
Head northwest around the building to find more raptidons. If needed, retreat to the Van Noys for support.
  3. 3
Search a house to the northwest to find the dead Iconoclast medic. Loot their body for an Iconoclast Trauma Kit and the unique shotgun Euthanasia Kit.
  4. 4
Return to the Van Noys. You have two dialogue options:
    • Tell them, “I found your trauma kit. Your medic is dead.” This appeases Zora and has no other consequences.
  5. 5
Say, “Help me get to the printing press and we can all go home.” This requires a successful Persuade 60, Lie 60, or Intimidate 60 check. If successful, May and August will accompany you into the Terra One Publications building to help clear raptidons. You can then send them home or recruit them.
  6. 6
Enter the Terra One Publications building. There are two entrances: a large bay door on the northeast side and a smaller door on the southeast end. The southeastern door is recommended for easier sneaking and better defensive prospects.
  7. 7
Once inside, go through a doorway to the north-northwest. You can either kill all the raptidons in the large printing press room or sneak through it to the west-southwest, passing under a walkway.
  8. 8
Continue west-southwest and up some stairs, avoiding more raptidons. At the top of the stairs, you will find three doors.
  9. 9
The second door (middle) contains a terminal. Interact with it and select the Install Rollers option to repair the printing presses. The raptidons will leave the building.
  10. 10
Loot the building for any items.
  11. 11
Return to Amber Heights and speak with Graham. Inform him of your work with the printing press and the Van Noys.
Tips
  • Using the doorway as a bottleneck can be effective when fighting raptidons in the printing press room.
  • The western-most door at the top of the stairs has a terminal, but it is not particularly interesting.
  • All the Iconoclasts inside the building are dead; Graham spilled a lot of blood to get his printing press.
  • Completing Zora’s objectives in The Commuter (securing food and medicine) and Pay for the Printer (rescuing the Van Noys) will lead to the quest Sucker Bait if she asks to talk to you in the med bay.
  • XP
  • 2,188 Bits
  • +750 Bits (if Van Noys were rescued)
  • Iconoclast Apostle Armor
  • Positive Iconoclast reputation
