Tunic features a wide variety of items that aid the player in their journey. These items are categorized into Gear, Equipment, Single Use items, and Cards, each offering unique benefits and effects.

Gear

These items provide abilities that are always available once acquired.

• Potions — Heals the player. Refills upon resting at a checkpoint. Can be upgraded using ash offerings.
• Shield — Allows the player to deflect most attacks, using stamina. Cannot be used when stamina is empty. Manual Text: "Left by a RUDELING / Use to deflect blows."
• Lantern — Creates a small area of light in dark areas.
• Hero's Laurels — Replaces the player's dodge roll with a short forward teleportation, usable for crossing gaps.

Equipment

These items must be assigned to an action button to be used.

• Stick — A weak melee weapon, the first available. Manual Text: "Just a stick!"
• Sword — A melee weapon, much more powerful than the Stick. Manual Text: "Is this the hero's blade? Or a forgery?"
• Magic Dagger — Fires a short burst of freezing ice after a delay. Consumes 12 MP per use.
• Wand — Fires a magic projectile. Consumes 2 MP per shot. If used with the Magic Dagger, the projectile freezes enemies.
• Magic Orb — Launches a magic grappling hook to pull the player to hooks and tuning forks, or pull enemies to the player. Consumes 4 MP per grab on an enemy.
• Gun — Fires a wide spread of projectiles. Consumes 16 MP per blast.
• Hourglass — Slows time for everything, including the player. Slowly consumes MP while active.

Single Use

These items are consumed upon use and must be assigned to an action button. Some can be found in Chests or purchased in Shops.

• Blast Bomb — Explodes after a short delay. Shop price: 100 (per 3 bombs). Manual Text: "Made from Slorm, the pudding that goes boom."
• Fire Bomb — Bursts into flames on impact. Shop price: 150 (per 3 bombs). Manual Text: "Fire fire everywhere, and ow ow ow ow ow."
• Frost Bomb — Releases a freezing cloud on impact. Cannot be bought. Manual Text: "Unstable powder made from the fairy of the West Garden."
• Effigy — Provides coins, starting at 8 and doubling with each subsequent use, up to 512. Cannot be bought. Manual Text: "Betray for coins. Each betrayal is sweeter than the last."
• Red Fruit — Replenishes HP. Shop price: 100. Manual Text: "Eat fruits to restore HP or MP. They are gone forever, so snack sparingly."
• Blue Fruit — Replenishes MP. Shop price: 150. Manual Text: "Eat fruits to restore HP or MP. They are gone forever, so snack sparingly."
• Golden Coin — Used near a well to make a wish. Grants an additional card slot after 3, 6, 10, and 15 wishes. Shop price: 999 (limited stock). Manual Text: "A special treasure that allows a wish. Use at well to give to wish eater."
• Hot Pepper — Provides a temporary boost to attack power. Cannot be bought. Manual Text: "One is spicy, one is minty. Gives a boost to ATT or SP."
• Ivy — Provides a temporary boost to SP. Shop price: 90. Manual Text: "One is spicy, one is minty. Gives a boost to ATT or SP."
• Lure — Creates a fake copy of the player that distracts enemies. Shop price: 150. Manual Text: "Doll of the beloved hero. Foes will be tricked!"

Cards

Cards provide passive special effects and must be equipped in a card slot.

• Anklet — Increases player's movement speed.
• Aura's Gem — Increases the time window for parrying with the Shield.
• Bracer — Reduces SP cost for blocking with the Shield.
• Cyan Peril Ring — Raises DEF when low on HP. Manual Text: "Raises DEF when you are in PERIL."
• Dagger Strap — Reduces cast time when using the Magic Dagger.
• Flame Sword — Hitting enemies with the Sword lights them on fire, but reduces player's HP to 1.
• Inverted Ash — Potion flasks restore MP instead of HP. Manual Text: "Quaffed potions restore MP instead of HP."
• Louder Echo — Increases the range and duration of the stun effect when collecting the echo left behind upon death.
