Detailed guide for Part 46 in Unreal Tournament, covering weapon strategies, power-up locations, and map control tips for both Conveyor and Peak Monastery.
This guide covers two maps: Conveyor and Peak Monastery, detailing strategies, weapon advantages, and item placements for each.
Map: Conveyor
Stats:
- Frag Limit: 30
- Opponents: 6
- Best Weapon: Minigun
Powerups / Armour:
- Thigh Pads: On a low middle platform next to the smelting pool.
- Body Armour: At the very top of the main room, on the fourth floor.
- Shield-belt: Under the ramp next to the Shock Rifle.
- Keg O' Health: At the very far end of the map, between the top of the two sets of stairs behind the smelting pool.
- UDamage: On a thin beam spanning the smelting pool.
- Jump Boots: At the bottom of the long ramp tunnel with the vials.
Controlling the Map:
The area with the Keg and Thigh Pads is a good control point, though it's a dead end. The Minigun is recommended due to the map's large, open nature, especially with UDamage. A good spot is on the first floor overlooking the bottom level, near the DANGER sign, with health packs behind you. The Jump Boots are down the ramp tunnel, near the Pulse Rifle and Minigun ammo packs.
Another strategy is to control the third level overlooking the main room, where the Rocket Launcher spawns. Bots struggle to reach this level, making it a strategic vantage point. Use the Rocket Launcher's lock-on feature.
The Shock Rifle is at the other end of the map on the bottom floor. The Shield-belt is under the ramp, offering a decent camping spot with health packs and Shock Rifle ammo. Watch for enemies coming through the window above. The Body Armour and Sniper Rifle are accessible via a lift.
Miscellaneous:
- Bots may get lost, especially between the Keg and Redeemer ends of the map.
- Bots often struggle to reach the Thigh Pads unless knocked onto the platform; always grab them.
- The Redeemer is on top of the vents in the room above the Shield-belt.
- Standing or feigning death on the conveyor will keep you moving, but dropped weapons will remain stationary.
- You can escape bots by hammer-jumping onto the beams and into the glass roof of the Slime Gun room.
- Be cautious when respawning, as some spawn points are high and can lead to falling off ledges.
- The glass ceiling in the Bio Rifle room can be shot out.
Map: Peak Monastery (DM-PEAK)
Originally a serene place for Nipi Monks, now a Liandri tournament arena. This map is tight, condensed, and has low visibility, giving bots an advantage on higher difficulties.
Stats:
- Frag Limit: 30
- Opponents: 4
- Best Weapon: Flak Cannon
Powerups / Armour:
- Thigh Pads: On one of the outer walkways.
- Body Armour: In the room at the top of the map, reachable by going up both lifts.
- Shield-belt: On a thin beam spanning the pit in the corner room.
- Keg: In one of the three small rooms in the outer courtyard.
- UDamage: On the very top roof of the map.
- Jump Boots: On one of the lowest outer walkways, under the Minigun.
Controlling the Map:
This map requires quick engagements. Weapons and ammo are spread out. The Shield-belt area is dangerous due to its popularity and spam potential. Avoid dodging on the precarious walkways, as bots are less susceptible to being knocked off. Shooting enemies off edges does not score points.
The Flak Cannon is ideal for its hitscan and run-and-gun capabilities, effective against bots at close range. Sitting at the top of the Flak stairs and firing down is a strong strategy due to the bottleneck and spawn point. This area is also good for spamming Flak and Rockets.
Another strategy is to camp in the Shield-belt room and use Shock Combos on the door, luring bots to their demise.
