Master Ghardhen Labs in Unreal Tournament! Learn effective strategies for controlling Capture Points (CPs), utilizing power-ups like Keg O' Health and UDamage, and outmaneuvering bots with T/L and Jump Boots.

This section of the guide covers Part 49, focusing on the map Ghardhen Labs. It provides strategies for controlling Capture Points (CPs), utilizing power-ups, and general map navigation.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Controlling the Map: With T/L and Jump Boots, you can control Ghardhen Labs effectively. Bots struggle with map traversal, so focus on hitting all three CPs repeatedly and avoiding unnecessary combat.
  2. 2
Top CP: This is the least popular and easiest CP for bots to attack. They typically approach via the lifts. You can block the main lift by dropping your T/L underneath it, limiting their approach to one direction. Bots cannot T/L to the Top CP, making it defensible. The Shock Rifle, though at the Bottom CP, is the only instant-hit weapon. Health packs are available on-site, and the Keg O' Health is nearby.
  3. 3
Center CP: This CP is very difficult to defend due to its five blind approaches and the presence of the weaker Pulse Rifle. Avoid it unless passing through, but assign one bot to defend it to prevent an easy enemy capture.
  4. 4
Bottom CP: Defending this CP is also challenging due to two elevated ramp approaches. Camping here is slightly easier if you use T/L to reach roof beams with Flak and health packs. Controlling the Jump Boots is crucial, and bots here will have ample ammunition.
  5. 5
Offensive Strategy: Establish dominance from the Top CP. Drop your T/L in a safe spot (e.g., near the bio rifle) for an escape. Then, drop to the platforms below the Top CP. Dodge to the Pulse Rifle and use the rising lift (or a normal jump if you lack boots) to attack bots camping the Center CP. Capture the Center CP on your way, then proceed down a ramp to capture the Bottom CP, grabbing the Shock Rifle, ammo, and boots. Finally, use your T/L to return to the Top CP.
Tips
  • When defending the Roof CP, be aware that bots may use T/L to reach it.
  • If on the roof and wanting to jump to a lower CP without using a jump or T/L, you can use the sloped roof of the stairwell or the small sloped fans to get over ledges. A walk-jump is also an option.
  • The map features a large billboard with a nonsensical team name.
  • If you spawn at the bio rifle or in the high room, turn left for the Garage CP. If you spawn at the minigun, go right.
  • While T/L is useful, it's not essential on this small map, especially with Jump Boots. Consider dropping your T/L in the keg room for quick escapes and to monitor the keg.
  • You can T/L all the way to the KROON STEEL billboard on top of the skyscraper for a vantage point. With Jump Boots, you can drop to claim CPs and T/L back up. Drop your T/L in front of the billboard before falling.

Powerups / Armour:

  • Keg O' Health: On a beam in the ceiling of the spawn-room with the Flak Cannon.

  • Jump Boots: Next to the Bottom CP.
