Unreal Tournament Part 74 covers terminal defense strategies and the AS-Overlord map, including attack and defense tips.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When attacking, lure defenders away from Terminal 4 by running towards the remaining Terminals.
  2. 2
To take down Terminal 1, use ripper blades down the adjacent corridors or the primary flak weapon, as Terminals are weak and accuracy is not crucial.
  3. 3
Attack Terminals when they are closest to you, as bots will defend the nearest remaining Terminal.
  4. 4
For defense, swim in the water and use the minigun to pick off attackers before they reach the station, or camp at the Terminal 1 pool with a shock weapon, as attackers appear in a predictable spot.
  5. 5
If Terminals are lost, teammates will defend the remaining ones; intercept attackers before they reach your teammates, as Terminals are easily destroyed if defenders are too close.
  6. 6
Be aware that opposition bots will use various entrances even if a Terminal is destroyed. If teammates are at Terminal 4, cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) the other entrance.
  7. 7
The ramp with the pulse rifle is a good hiding spot.
  8. 8
An exploit where attackers could shoot through walls to destroy Terminal 1 may still work offline in unpatched games, but was removed online by patch 436 or the LeagueAS mod (a community-made modification that changes the game).
  9. 9
You can create shock-combos using turrets and shock balls near Terminal 4 to destroy it and give the turret credit.
  10. 10
Terminals 2 and 3 can be destroyed by drawing fire from shock turrets, preventing the attacking team from scoring points, potentially leading to a 10-point win.

AS-Overlord Map Details:

The AS-Overlord map is designed as a recreation of a WWII beach assault, offering a challenging combat arena. The time limit is 10:00, and it is a 5v5 team match. The best personal time achieved without exploits is 0:37.

Powerups / Armour on AS-Overlord:

  • Thigh Pads: Located at the bottom of the ramp tunnels leading up from the Boiler Room.
  • Body Armour (4): One in the Boiler Room spawn-room, one in the ramp tunnels leading up from the Boiler Room, one in the left sniper tower, and one in the foxholes.

AS-Overlord Attack Strategy:

  1. Objective 1: Beach-Head: Exit the ship and advance up the beach, avoiding snipers, turrets, and mortars. The defense will not come up the Beach-Head tunnel but will fire from foxholes or sniper towers. To minimize fire, run to the right foxholes and use an alt-hammer-jump to reach the top, bypassing the mortar area. Dodge around the base of the right tower and ascend to the Beach-Head (or use a backwards hammer-jump for speed). Entering the Beach-Head triggers an objective message.
  2. Immediately after taking the Beach-Head, proceed to the Boiler Room. This initial run offers the best chance to encounter minimal resistance, as defenders take time to move from towers and foxholes to the Boiler Room.
  3. Objective 2: Boiler Room: If the initial push into the Boiler Room fails, it becomes difficult due to concentrated enemy fire. Coordinate with your team to hold positions at the Beach-Head or health packs, then assault the Boiler Room together. While they draw fire, you can enter behind them and quickly tap your hammer-jump bind to reach the tunnel.
Tips
  • For Terminal 1 defense, consider using the primary flak weapon as it is effective even with slight contact.
  • Bots will move to defend the nearest remaining Terminal, making it easier to attack through the Terminal 1 area if Terminal 1 is already destroyed.
  • When defending, intercept attackers before they reach objectives, as Terminals are vulnerable if defenders are positioned too close.
  • The ramp with the pulse rifle is an unpopular but effective hiding spot.
  • Using turrets to create shock-combos can destroy objectives.
  • Destroying Terminals via turret fire prevents the attacking team from scoring, potentially allowing for a win with a low team score.
  • On AS-Overlord, online play often becomes a sniper and launcher battle, with minigunners supporting. Offline, high difficulty levels can make the final cavern nearly impossible without exploits.
  • To bypass the mortar landing spot on AS-Overlord's Beach-Head objective, use an alt-hammer-jump to the top of the right foxholes.
  • When attacking the Boiler Room on AS-Overlord, use teammates to draw enemy fire while you flank and use a quick hammer-jump to reach the tunnel.
