Detailed walkthrough for Unreal Tournament's Tomb of Sesmar and Metal Dream maps, including CP tactics, power-up locations, and bot strategies for domination.

This section covers two Domination maps in Unreal Tournament: Tomb of Sesmar and Metal Dream. Both maps are best approached using the Translocator for strategic control and survival.

Tomb of Sesmar (DOM-SESMAR)

This map is owned by Liandri Mining Corporation and features 5v5 matches with a score limit of 175. The Translocator is essential here, making other weapons less critical. Recommended bot tactics involve assigning two bots to each Ankh CP while you utilize the Translocator across the top bridge for ammo and health pickups. If a CP is threatened, use the Translocator to quickly defend and return to safety. The Ankh CPs are color-coded by obelisks and door surrounds.

Powerups / Armour (Tomb of Sesmar):

  • Shield-belt: On a ledge near the obelisk by the Hall Of Pillars CP.
  • Keg O' Health: In the middle of the top bridge.
  • UDamage: Hidden in a pillar near the Hall Of Pillars CP.

Metal Dream (DOM-METALDREAM)

An oil rig converted into a Domination Arena, located near strange meteorological phenomena. This map supports 5v5 matches with a score limit of 200. The architecture encourages sniping from rooftops or close-quarters combat downstairs, with the Translocator being key to controlling the three CPs. The Crane CP is the most important for camping and sniping due to its vantage point over the Helipad and Boxes CPs.

Powerups / Armour (Metal Dream):

  • Body Armour: In an alcove near the Helipad CP.
  • Shield-belt (2): One near the ripper in the main spawn-room; another on a box near the Helipad CP.
  • Keg O' Health: On top of the huge crane at the Crane CP.
  • UDamage: On the helipad above the Helipad CP.
  • Invisibility: In the crow's nest via a teleporter.
  • Jump Boots (2): One in an alcove near the Helipad CP; another near the flak cannon in the main spawn-room.

Controlling Metal Dream:

Utilize the Translocator to reach high roofs for the Keg O' Health and UDamage. From these vantage points, monitor and quickly retake any CPs that are captured. Enemy bots rarely challenge players on the roofs. If playing conventionally, prioritize acquiring weapons like the shock rifle from lower decks before attempting to secure CPs on the upper platforms.

Miscellaneous Notes:

  • A rare bug in Tomb of Sesmar can cause bots to get stuck together when using the Translocator through windows.
  • Metal Dream's CPs are close together, making Translocator use highly effective for rapid defense and offense.
