Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, known in Japan as Game Boy Wars Advance 2, is the second game in the Advance Wars series and fifth in the Game Boy Wars series. It introduces new COs, Units, and features. A remake is included in Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp for Nintendo Switch.

• Plot: The Black Hole Army invades Macro Land, forcing the Allied Nations to unite against them. The campaign culminates in a battle against Sturm and the Death Ray, with Hawke ultimately betraying Sturm.
• New Unit: The Neotank, the strongest tank in the game, developed by Black Hole.
• New Features: Includes Silos (rocket-like projectiles), Pipelines and Pipe seams (impenetrable terrain features), and various Black Hole-exclusive weapons like the Black Cannon.
• New COs and CO Powers: Introduces Hachi, Colin, Sensei, Jess, Hawke, Lash, Adder, and Flak. All COs gain a normal and a Super CO Power, except Sturm who only has a Super CO Power.
