Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, known in Japan as Game Boy Wars Advance 2, is the second game in the Advance Wars series. It introduces several new elements to the gameplay.

• New Unit: The Neotank, the strongest tank in the game.
• New Terrain Features: Silos (explosive rockets), Pipelines and Pipe seams (impenetrable barriers with destructible gaps), and various Black Hole-exclusive weapons like the Black Cannon.
• New COs and CO Powers: Hachi, Colin, Sensei, Jess, Hawke, Lash, Adder, and Flak join the roster. All COs now have a normal CO Power and a Super CO Power, with Sturm being the exception who only has a Super CO Power.
