Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Ice Breaker mission guide. Learn how to capture Oil Derricks and defeat Lydia on Hard difficulty with Imperial units.

Faction-Specific Strategies:

• As the Soviets: Send in a Bullfrog full of Flak Troopers and Bears.
• As the Allies: Send in a Riptide ACV full of Javelin Soldiers and Peacekeepers. Use Tanya to wipe out the base.
• As the Imperials: Build a Dojo south of Lydia's base and train Archers and Tankbusters. Use Archers against Lydia's soldiers and Cryocopters, and Tankbusters to smash her structures.

Strategy by Raudence (Imperials):

1. Start with 2 Generators, 2 Refineries, and 1 Dojo Core. Make 2 Engineers.
2. When possible, build a Mecha Bay and deploy it.
3. Build a Tengu and a Sudden Transport. Pack your Engineers into them.
4. Send your Tengu in fighter mode to Lydia's Refinery and your Transport to her base simultaneously. Disguise your Transport as one of Lydia's Prospectors. Your Tengu will likely be destroyed.
5. While this is happening, upgrade your Mecha Bay and build 3 Tengus and 5 Striker-VXs.
6. Your Transport should now be at Lydia's base. She will likely have an Airbase and Defence Bureau.
7. Wait for her forces to leave her base (this includes Cryo Legionnaires that may be behind the Defence Bureau or Air Base).
8. Unpack your Engineers and capture both the Defence Bureau and Air Base, then sell them. This should cause Lydia's MCV (Mobile Construction Vehicle) to retreat to the North West.
9. Use your Tengus and Strikers to destroy the MCV while it is in the water before it unpacks or builds a Turret. Escort your Strikers with Tengus to fend off Apollos.
10. With her MCV, Defence Bureau, and Air Base gone, you only need to worry about her remaining Infantry, which should include about 2 Cryo Legionnaires.
