The Super Sneaky Officer Killing Trick:

This trick involves standing outside an enemy officer's attack range, then using your bow to attack them. The enemy AI will often retreat to their starting point instead of pursuing, allowing you to defeat them from a distance. This method can be effective against many bosses and dangerous opponents.

Warning: This trick does NOT work on Lu Bu at Hu Lao Gate, as he will pursue you.

Update for Lu Bu: If you can move backward with no other enemies present, you can shoot regular arrows while retreating. Musou arrows are also effective. With flame arrows equipped, you can knock Lu Bu down with a regular arrow, then use a dizzy arrow, approach for a combo, or knock him down and dizzy him again.

Alternative Lu Bu Tactic: Take out your bow, use a stun arrow on Lu Bu, then perform a combo. Repeat this process. This works best with the Way of the Musou item.

Getting Better Items:

The stages You Ting and Jie Ting on hard difficulty are recommended for obtaining special items, including the elixir. Many items can be maxed out on these stages.

Getting Enemies to Drop Better Power-Ups and Items:

To influence enemy drops:

• Unleash an 8-hit combo for a +1 drop.
• Unleash a 16-hit combo for a +2 drop.
• Unleash a 24-hit combo for a +4 drop.

Some generals always drop +8 items without needing a combo. Random enemies can drop a +50 bun or +5 arrow if killed with a 16+ hit combo. Using a 10-second Musou fill to defeat many enemies can result in 16+ hits and numerous power-ups.

Reverse Block Tactic:

When an enemy boss defends against your attacks, refrain from attacking and block. After approximately 0.4 to 1 second, the general will attack. Counter-attack after they finish. This tactic is less effective if surrounded by many enemies, and blocking may not work well on hard mode.

Addition to Reverse Block Tactic: You can also block until the enemy starts strafing. Blocking is effective in hard mode, even against Lu Bu.

Getting Second and Third Weapons:

Method 1:

1. Go to the Battle of Yi Ling on easy mode.
2. Defeat Gan Ning and all of his officers.
3. Two officers will drop weapons; one will be your second weapon.
4. This is most effective with Zhou Yu or another officer who uses an iron sword, as many characters share this as a first weapon.

Method 2:

1. Go to the Battle at You Ting on easy or normal mode.
2. Defeat every officer except Sima Yi.
3. Collect all weapon boxes to obtain your third weapon.

Method 3 (Easier Second and Third Weapons):

1. Play Tong Gate on hard difficulty using the allied forces.
2. Ensure your first player character is very weak (unequip items and second weapon).
3. Your second player character should be strong, like Lu Bu or Guan Yu.
4. Have the first player move left until they see a weapon box, break it, and take the weapon.
5. Have the first player hide behind Tong Gate.
6. Use the second player to finish the level.
7. Cao Cao can be defeated in three hits if your character is strong. This method also helps level up characters.
